Your “Saturday Evening Post” Combine Weekend Open Thread

In lieu of my usual Saturday-themed musical selection, I present my dogs playing in the snow. The 3.5 year-old female is beating up the 10 month-old puppy.

It must hard for all the players at the Combine to try really hard for 31 teams & then have to shit the bed when they know the Browns are watching.

It gave me cause to think of a really sad drinking game – looking up who the Browns picked in the first round, and then trying to estimate how that players would’ve done on another team, and placing the player the team did take onto the Browns roster. For example, in 2011, the Browns took DT Phil Taylor with the 21st pick, who left the team after his rookie contract concluded, got hurt & hasn’t played since 2015. The Top-5 picks that year were:

1. Cam Newton – would have been good on the Browns
2. Von Miller – would have been average
3. Marcell Dareus – would be out of the league
4. AJ Green – would be on another team because he could outrun every Browns QB
5. Julio Jones – as above, but even further

That’s at least three shots & a beer.
