For the past few years, the Washington Capitals and Pittsburgh Penguins have met in the second round of the playoffs.  Then the winner of that series has gone on to take the cup.

Yeah, ummmmmmmmm………that won’t be happening this year.

Pens get swept by NYI.

Caps go down in 7 to….shit I can hardly even bring myself to say it…to Carolina.

In fact, all four number one seeds went out with a whimper, more or less.  So this is now wide open.

The king is dead…long live the king!

I hope it’s Columbus.  But they’ll probably fuck it up even though the road is now paved for them.
