DFO Radio: Duets and Assembling Your Squad

Last week we changed things up a bit in honor of the draft and assembled new bands out of existing musicians.  But before we get to that, let’s get Tom Brady and Bill Belichick’s “Duets” playlist out of the way. Pick of the Week goes to SonOfSpam for snapping up old KSK favorite Susannah Hoffs.

And on to the bands!  Here’s what everyone came up with; I’m neglecting to select a Pick of the Week because they’re all great. Disfrutas los “tunes”!

This was an excellent idea for a request line. I only wish I had been there ontime to pick even more value because you guys are all insane to leave so much on the board. In fact, here’s another supergroup from leftovers:

Steve Gadd on drums
https://youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=-ZcGQX71w68
Eric Fucking Clapton on lead guitar
https://youtube.com/watch?feature=youtu.be&v=bI8P6ZSHSvE
Speaking of the Beatles, Might as well take Paul McCartney for all the things, including keys and vocals
https://youtube.com/watch?v=pEFJ4fcioRI&feature=youtu.be
Have some fun with it and bring in Charles Mingus to play bass and do anything else he wants
https://youtube.com/watch?v=__OSyznVDOY&feature=youtu.be
And then round it out with Steven Tyler as the frontman and random percussionist just to make things really fucking weird

We can call them Funkytown

Which would still leave Robert Plant on the board. We’re all idiots.

Can’t believe that Meg White wasn’t selected on drums.

King Hippo

in fairness, I forgot to select a drummer

King Hippo

/probably would have taken the fat guy from Royal Blood

SonOfSpam

And leave Buddy Rich to die? Wait…he’s already dead. Huh.

SonOfSpam

Great job incorporating Lisa Simpson into the DFO Radio logo, or vice-versa or whatever.

Low Commander of the Super Soldiers

Excuse me, but “Guy From Battles” is John Stanier, also from Helmet, Tomahawk and The Mark of Cain and my favorite drummer. Excellent selection by Scotchy.

This is what I get for missing the last two Request Lines.

SonOfSpam

Can always count on Low Commander to give good Helmet
information.
