NFL News:
- The NFL is considering the possibility the California teams may not play in-state to start the season.
- It all depends on state & county “stay at home” orders.
- There is speculation that the LA teams might go to Vegas.
- There are only two dates that conflict between the three schedules, and would require a move to Monday night.
- The Niners would likely go to Arizona.
- Both for geographical & bureaucratic expediency, as Washington state is still undecided about its large-gatherings rules.
- Plus the AZ governor today announced pro sports can resume without fans starting May 16.

- And Florida’s governor announced today that his state would be willing to accept any teams that can’t play in their own territory.

- On the Rams, they broke out their new jerseys today.
- They use a colour of white called “bone” for their road kit, and their home & alternate jersey has classic colours plus numbers that shade from yellow to white.
- The logo is also the helmet, so they are really keeping it.
- The court battle over Oliver Luck’s firing just got more interesting.
- In response to his initial filing over wrongful termination, Vince McMahon’s attorneys said he fired Luck “for cause”.
- Their filing provides three examples of what his side alleges was a failure to follow “multiple” XFL policies and directives:
- Gross neglect, by relocating from the XFL’s Connecticut offices to his home office in Indiana.
- In doing so, they allege Luck failed to “devote substantially all of his business time to his XFL duties as required by the contract.”
- Luck signed a player McMahon specifically forbade the league from signing.
- Luck used an XFL-issued cell phone for personal use.

Today’s good internet dogs are Mabel & Olive, the dogs of BBC Broadcaster Andrew Cotter. Today, he gives them a performance evaluation.

Really, Olive needs to get things under control.
Clearly bored & putting his time to good use, Cotter became a bit of an internet hit last month when he called the staredown between the two dogs & put it onto his Twitter page.

I wish some of you worked later hours.
I just gave up on a work thing, if that makes you feel better
Huh? Did you quit?
It’s 11:15 and I was true to my word, I did get blitzed. But now it’s time for bed.

One of the amazing things about The Venture Bros. is that even the episodes that are fifteen years old are still really, really good.
I never thought my OCD would pay dividends but I can actually tell what day of the week it is based on what I had for breakfast and what I’m wearing to work. Tomorrow breakfast is a banana, berry smoothie with dry whole grain toast and I’m wearing black pants with a grey polo.
That’s Thursday!
Friday is an orange, hard boiled egg and toast while wearing a dark blue polo.
See! It all makes sense!
Don’t ask me the day of the month, I’m still working out the algorithm.
I’m working from home. It’s bedroom to bathroom, bathroom to dog walk, dog walk to kitchen, kitchen to couch, Cheerios & Brooklyn 9-9, drop dishes in sink, kitchen to office & online by 9:30.
It’s a comfortable routine I fear disturbing.
Black pants with a grey polo, after dry whole grain toast?

I ain’t that cool.
After the last DFO L.A. pub crawl, I rode back to the LAX area in an Uber with yeahright. I sat sprawled in the back seat, drunk after four beers, while yeahright sat up front with the very cool young driver, who admitted he was also a musician in a band. yeahright proceeded to tell the driver about all the concerts he had attended since the U.S. Civil War, and I’m serious I think this young lad had a religious experience. I wrote about this in the comments on this very blog later that exact same day, go look it up.

I mean not only the bourgeoisie conflict that illustrates the entire post-war class structure that is exhibited in the “contract dispute” at the head of the clip, but also the completely unreal depiction of a fossil-fueled steam plant. I mean come on. Are we expected to believe this? Also, Gene Krupa could have been a great musician if he had learned to play an instrument. Did you hear about the guitarist who locked his keys in the car? The drummer was trapped inside for two hours. Anyways I think President Trump is a national hero, certainly better than George Washington and possibly even equal to Ronald Reagan and Warren G. Harding. God bless you all.
I wasn’t planning to rewatch the entirety of The Venture Bros., but that seems to have been set in motion.
That’s a smart move, man.
Why is Barry Zito trending on the Tweety? (Reads) Why was Barry Zito on The Masked Singer?
Just saw a commercial for a Jetsons-ass computer workout machine that goes in your wall. $3000 install and $50/mo on top of that. Gonna be a lot of Peloton and Tonal machines sitting in upper class garages in the near future.
I made deep dish pizza again tonight, under the guise of “leftover usage”. The toppings included Sunday’s pulled pork & Monday’s Italian sausage.
I’m always surprised how few people realize that in 1985, Philadelphia police literally bombed a city block

“Amateurs!”
Great Fucking documentary about that, “Let The Fire Burn.”
If that happened in 2020, that story would lead the evening news every night for months, regardless of if the MOVE. folks were shitty neighbors or not!
It’s crazy how many people are aware of Waco, but not the MOVE incident. Wonder what the difference was.
I remember it. I watched it on TV. Man, you sure don’t see shit like that anymore; it’s all fucking CG now.

Even though changing the Rams Horn Logo can be seen as sacrilegious, I kind of like the new logo.
The new uniforms do suck, though.
The new logo would be *perfect* if the league had contracted and combined the Chargers and Rams franchises. Which maybe is an option that should still be on the table.
“Heh heh, ‘still on the table’.” – Andy Reid, laughing at Rikki’s ridiculously fantastical notion
I like aspects of it, like the helmet doesn’t totally suck, but it’s at best a sidestep. I like the idea of bone color, except in that case call it like “bighorn white” or something and more accurately color that shade to an actual bighorn ram’s horns.
The number font is meh. Shit, do I get to become our Paul Lukas if I rank the new crop of unis?
Hey.
Tomorrow I’d be off work and getting ready for a trip to Seattle followed by a cruise to Alaska.
Instead, I’ll be working tomorrow and going nowhere for a long time.
(shrugs) Still breathing, though.
Dammit, that’s the last time you get beef and bean burritos at lunch, Scott.
That’s some badass quick-cut film editing right there.
“Six separate shots in one second? Meh.” – Michael Bay, unimpressed
SiriusXM has turned Deep Tracks into Led Zeppelin radio, and I’m considering living in my car until the end of the month.
They stole the idea from B.B. King’s Bluesville on ch 74
Great hustle.
You know you can play Sirius XM on your cellphone and smart tv, right?
I start doing that and then realize I can just go to youtube and pick what I want
There is something to playing the radio and being happily surprised when they play a song you like. Whether it’s brand new to you or a song you hadn’t thought about in a long time.
[Train intensifies]
My deal right now is audiobooks on the YouTuber and history podcasts…… I will warn nerds now to not travail this road FOR IT HASETH NO END!!
Only to be let down in Canada by CanCon regulations mandating that stations end up playing the same twelve songs.
Eleven, if the Bryan Adams blowback results in the boycott I’ve heard about.
Bryan Adams getting himself pulled from the radio is what you’d call taking one for the team
What’s even more Canadian is that Bryan Adams doesn’t even qualify for CanCon. Took a lot of long hours for the bureaucrats to work that one out.
But the first two Heart albums are.
I’m thinking that is because he can also play it in his car……

One nice thing about the death of deadspin (among MANY nice things) is that I have no idea what is going on with Barstool.

I’m filing this under “Low Blow” and moving on.
That’s fine and all but my schedule will remain; jackin’ Friday, then Sunday afternoon.
Wow, Rex Ryan really *has* lost a lot of weight.
I’m not sure what’s up – the UFC is on right now on TSN. Maybe ESPN pushed it.
“Did they push it real good?”

That might be my favorite thing ever, including my family.
ESPN is showing the Alex Smith leg-owie episode and holy God!, that is something else.
Yeah, at least Theismann’s leg just snapped. Smith’s leg acted like a pencil shaving.
Shoulda been you, literally anyone else.
By which I mean Alex Smith seems like a genuinely decent human being.
He had to know he was doomed from the beginning. Needed a questionably aged girlfriend to hit once or twice just to be safe

I was missing sports, but then someone made this video, and I was reminded that all Cincinnati sports teams sucks and all Cincinnati sports fans suck. Now I’m better.

Paul Brown sends a bill to whomever clicks this.
Remember the Barons…and that they probably sucked too.
I have an old WHA Stingers t-shirt. Is the Riverfront Coliseum still there?
Yes. Its on its its fourth name. Its an outdated blight on the riverfront that costs the city tons of events and millions of dollars. Its sucks because the riverfront has improved tenfold but there’s there dull-ass tumor on the east end. The owner wants the city to have the voters upgrade it for them. At the rate its going, Newport, KY (one of the cities across the river from Cincinnati) is going to have an indoor arena before Heritage Bank Center, née U.S. Bank Arena née Firstar Center née The Crown née Riverfront Coliseum gets rebuilt.
North KY already stole Cincy’s airport, so why not?
That’s another story. Cincinnati Municipal Airport flooded in the worst flood in history, so we moved it to another state away from the major US Highways. Until the Cincinnati Bypass was built thirty years after CVG was built, the only way to the airport was several two lane roads or a ferry. They didn’t know a highway was going to be built in Kentucky and until the 1970s, I-275 wasn’t going to be in Kentucky, it was only going to be north of the city. They had a brand new airport but no direct route to connect it to the city, and everyone was okay with that.
Is there any doubt why people laugh at Cincinnati?
ESPN is showing an old NBA game, so something must have gone hideously yet hilariously wrong in Jacksonville.
Well, you did say it was Jacksonville.
It appears to have started earlier in Canada than in the US.
You know, in hindsight it’s pretty obvious they’re the same guy in ‘Fight Club’

Question; is it spaghetti night every 28 days?

Better than fart noises.
You put your right foot in you take your right foot out! You took your left foot in, you take…no, your other left foot!
That’s the kind of thing we were looking for.
[links U2 song]
Are all her feet the same size? I hear women complaining about finding one pair of shoes, but two exactly the same? Also, what kind of budget did have for socks and stockings? Did she wrap one set of legs around her husband’s waist and put the other leg’s ankles on his shoulders? Instead of doggy style would it be bug style? So many questions.
Four different sizes……
I don’t see the problem. Just drop your pants and respond in kind. Either you both get a nice laugh or sex happens.
For a second I thought the Cheez-Its were in her vagina.
No, not that. You’re close, though.
This made me laugh hard enough to contemplate sharing it with the Dr. Mrs., but I don’t think she’ll find it as funny as I did.
or she’ll start doing it.
It only gets out of hand when she does it for family gathering I suppose.
More difficult, but still can be done with a Zoom teleconference.
One more fetish for Hippo to judge:
The USAF Thunderbirds did an overflight of San Antonio and Austin this afternoon. I’m too far north of SA to have been able to see it, but I decided to stream it live. Having seen these demonstrations all my life, I wasn’t all that impressed. I mean, it was just a bunch of planes flying in formation, and you couldn’t really tell they were above the town since most shots were taken from the ground. I hope that The Essential Workers whom the overflight was meant to honor enjoyed it, anyway. The flight path took them over most major medical centers (there’s a lot, believe it or not) and hospitals in the SA-Austin metro area/corridor. It got started an hour later than first announced due to excessive cloud cover which did clear off. If I had been at the office, I would have seen them at 230 PM (marked 130 on the map below) right where the second airplane in the flight path is shown.
Detroit got the Blue Angels along with lesser flyovers across the state. It all seems incredibly, impossibly stupid and I don’t know how anyone can be happy they did it. I live with an RN in a badly hit area and she is fucking disgusted that they did it in lieu of, y’know, effective emergency management from the federal government.
As they say; “A ship that is rudderless….”
I read that those things cost something like $60,000 an hour, or minute, or some ungodly number.
Fortunately there’s nothing else the government could be spending that kind of money on right now, so it’s cool.
Don’t touch the biggest sacred cow in the world! That is unpatriotic defeatism!

What was the edible dosage for this?
No idea. Trying to blind me with science? Thomas Dolby is my spirit animal, btw.
I’m not looking for exact data like gram per kG of body weight…. more like “Dude, eat a quarter of this brownie and you have a really good stone for about three hours.” [Scotchy eats two whole brownies in the car on the way home] type of dosage.
Ya got me, wanna kill somebody?
That’s my tequila thing, not my high thing… BRB.
