NFL Notes:

• In the worst-kept secret since the Kaepernick blackballing, Lamar Jackson was finally revealed as the cover of Madden ’21. 
  • The write-up is pretty spectacular-sounding, despite no gameplay footage being available:
    • “Dynamic agility and blazing speed make the Baltimore Ravens superstar QB untouchable in the open field. The face of a fearless new generation of rising NFL stars, Jackson has changed the game.”
      • There is no word on whether he will have a “God mode” like OG video game god Bo Jackson in Tecmo Bowl.

• New York Giants kicker Aldrick Rosas was arrested Monday morning following a hit-and-run in Chico, California.
  • He was apparently, and allegedly, doing about 100 mph when he blew an intersection & hit another vehicle.
    • He then fled the scene, but was later found by the CHP.
  • He is being charged with charged with misdemeanor hit-and-run and driving on a suspended license.
    • There is also talk about a DUI charge.

• The 49ers have extended Kyle Shanahan through 2025.
  • His original contract was going to expire after 2022, but they decided blowing a fourth quarter lead in the Super Bowl was worth another three years.
    • While no numbers were divulged, it’s rumoured that the deal now makes Shanahan one of the NFL’s five highest-paid head coaches.
  • A reminder, in his first three seasons, he’s gone:
    • 6-10 (2017)
    • 4-12 (2019)          – this type of success got Dick Vermeil fired.
    • 13-3 (2020)

Finally, the Buccaneers released photos of  good internet dog Tom Brady wearing clothes!

• It all comes after the Bucs teased a picture release, and Dreamboat made his views felt.

  • A look at the decade leading up to the L.A. riots of 1992. This documentary examines the era’s racial tensions, the rise of gangs, the crack epidemic and the efforts of the LAPD to clamp down on the violence.
• The Genetic Detective – 10:00PM | ABC
  • The killer of 8-year-old April Tinsley taunted police for decades in Fort Wayne, Indiana, leaving notes and threats with viable DNA samples, but they still couldn’t catch him until now.
    • NOTE: Unlike most of these type of shows, where they draw out a result that remains open, this one does have a conclusion.
