Hello all,
Because today is the day international corporations have set aside for the worship of the father,
and I don’t have one any more, I have chosen instead to take a lovely trip up BC’s Sunshine Coast with WineWife to go beer & cider tasting.
For those of you who haven’t been to this little slice of paradise, the region is most famous for being home to the long-running Canadian TV show, “The Beachcombers”.
It’s close enough to the Lower Mainland that it’s easily accessible, but the ferries restrict the number of tourists that can come over, so it feels just distant enough. It’s the kind of place where an hour feels like it takes two to pass – in a good way. I find going up there quite relaxing, even if it’s just for the day. In my younger days, I used to ride to the ferry terminal & take my bike over. As we all know, time & the pandemic have put paid to that.
If all goes according to plan, there are four breweries, two cideries, and one distillery available for sampling. All of the places are dog-friendly, so you know the whole team is going.

So the Dr. Mrs. is proposing that we get more vaccine. She wants to add Pfizer on top of our J&J. Can anyone point me to a good resource as to whether this is a good idea?

Got AZ for first dose. Will be getting Pfizer (tomorrow!!1!!!1) but wanted an mRNA for the second dose as it offers a bit more protection than either two AZ or Pfizer doses so feel good about it.
Look for studies from the UK, Spain and Germany on AZ+Pfizer. AZ and J&J share the same delivery technology which is different tech than the Pfizer or Moderna. So they should be applicable to J&J+ MRNA
As for mixing vaccines, it’s done for many other diseases, we just are not as aware of it

Just spent an afternoon drinking beer and cider with my father and son, so that’s a wholesome Father’s Day all the way around.

I just watched Life With Father on TCM. William Powell, Irene Dunne, and a smoking hot teenaged Elizabeth Taylor. My dad, who died 5 months after my mom in Feb of 2006, loved this movie. I am happy sad.

My old man was gone a bit when I was young due to his career; at home, not physically abusive, but sometimes mentally so. Military guy in the 1950s-thru 1970s, what do you expect. Talked to him today, at 84 he’s still a pretty funny guy and all there.
