My Lineups Across 3 Sites
DK Darnold Moss Sermon McLaurin Davis Smith Kelce OBJ Lions |
SD Hurts Hubbard Henry McLaurin Smith OBJ Kelce Harris |
FD Mahomes Moss Sermon Davis McLaurin OBJ Kelce Metcalf Lions |
I cashed with all three.
The Good
I’m taking a victory lap on Sam Darnold. I pay attention to the fantasy industry frequently, and I heard zero talk about Darnold this week. I questioned myself right up until lock but thankfully stuck to my guns as I want this to be based off my own research. I was hoping for 1 rushing TD and was blessed with 2. I was also blessed with the right game script as Darnold was forced to throw late in the game in order to catchup. That being said… man, it was tough to watch. Darnold threw 2 INTs and probably should’ve had 4 or 5. The price was right here, I got lucky with the game script, but such a performance should not be assumed going forward.
What happens when a 1 -2 Mahomes gets angry? 5 passing TDs, 3 of which went to Hill, is the answer.
***This is a meh*** Murray did fine, but you likely needed more at other positions to cash.
***Also a meh*** Stafford ended up going over the 2.6x we needed, but with the performances of other QBs this week, Stafford’s 20 DK points might not have been enough considering his price.
Hurts benefitted from the right environment as he and the Eagles attempted to play catch up all day.
Montgomery proved to be too cheap, but was good on any site thanks to his 2 TDs and 100 plus yards. Sucks that he got injured, it doesn’t initially look good.
Henry ✅. Najee Harris ✅. CEH ✅. Moss ✅
Davis has a good relationship with Wilson, I wasn’t ignoring that in this particular matchup.
Other Davis found the endzone…finally.
F1 was awesome. Awesome!
Smith benefitted from a nice matchup…the Chiefs secondary is vulnerable.
Metcalf continued to show his strong role in this offense, though I am concerned with RW3 only throwing for 149 yards.
Deebo was a home run, I wish I played him more.
Kelce. Yes, I’m counting this as a good for a couple reasons.
1. Putting him in forced me into positive situations at WR
2. He climbed to 14% ownership in cash games and then failed those people. Depending on his performance next Sunday night, he could be back to low ownership in cash games soon. So many TEs found the endzone this week, it isn’t something to be relied upon like Kelce can be.
The Bad
Sermon was kinda fine, but honestly I was counting on a 100 yard game. This situation befuddles me.
Chubba Hubbard. I got lucky here as I landed on Darnold instead. I’m not playing both a QB and an RB from the same team in a cash game. It ultimately was not the right game script for Hubbard, and they didn’t utilize him like they do CMC. Darnold also vultured him twice, which I saw coming.
Kamara was never targeted in the passing game, that’s a problem on DK for sure, and for the Saints apparently. Way to fuck it up New Orleans.
The Cleveland Browns are simply not to be trusted. You have one of the most talented WRs in the league and the literal worst CB in the NFL, and you don’t make that happen? OBJ was over 30% owned in cash games, so I was not the only person on this situation. Fuck you Cleveland. I’m glad you’re giving your fanbase false hope. Baker looked horrid yesterday by the way. OBJ was wide open in the endzone twice and Baker overthrew him, and OBJ was wide open for a 60 yard TD reception and Baker missed him there too.
For shame, sir. For shame. Go shoot another commercial dipshit.
I really hope Lamb’s price caves after this week. Would love to roster a player of his caliber on the cheap.
Thank you DFS sites for pricing up Kupp. His performances over the first three weeks were unsustainable, albeit attractive. He received 13 targets in this game though. Sure he only caught 5, but Stafford did continue to look his way often.
Waddle wasn’t targeted nearly enough. He was initially in my cash game build, but I am glad I got him out of there.
Apparently the Detroit Lions D is bad. Who knew? Oh you? You knew? WHY DIDN’T YOU TELL ME? Didn’t matter actually cuz no D really went off this week, and paying down allowed for opportunities elsewhere.
Two of my other recommended defenses shit the bed as well.
The Misses
Cordarelle Patterson went HAM with three receiving TDs. This is unsustainable so be careful with this player in DFS as he gets priced up, and in seasonal don’t make a stupid trade. However, feel free to sell high on him to someone else!
Matt Ryan. I refuse to say anything else. You can’t make me.
Saquon was the second best fantasy RB of the weekend. If he is fully healthy, then he is matchup proof. I wasn’t sure of 100% health, and didn’t want to take a chance against the Saints. Clearly I was wrong though. Good on the GMen for finally releasing him into the wild.
Tyfreek Hill. Yeah, I used him in a gpp that was fortunate enough to have F1 and Davis in it as well, and that was my best performing lineup of the day. However, I didn’t write him up and probably should have. Mahomes was mad, it was a Walrus Revenge Game against the Eagles, Hill hadn’t produced in a few games. All the signs were there.
Despite the good I think rostering Kelce does, TE was a miss this week.
If you go take a look at OBJ’s numbers, you’ll see the trend has gotten worse and worse in fantasy each and every year. Him and Mayfield have never been able to make much of a connection, and you can blame both of them for that. OBJ actually had better fantasy production when he was with the Giants.
I autodraft my FF team every year so this piece is helpful as I recreate my roster from scratch here in Week 4.
I did pick up Cordarelle and he overwhelmed for a victory so that was nice.
i sat Barkley figuring him hurt and trying to play the matchup. So 30 something points on my bench and the guy i put in had like 7.
Bubba Wallace just won rain-shortened Talladega, which is nice!
(NASCAR Nation collectively Googling “how to noose”)
Too bad it’s on the day Facebook goes tits up. I’m sure the reactions were all positive and/or reasonable.
I can’t quit you, Hockey!
I need to stick to cash games.
