Request Line: Villains and Villainesses

INT. RECORDING STUDIO – DAY/NIGHT/DAY/NIGHT/DAY/NIGHT/DAY…

DJ 3000 and various other robot entities remain trapped in a time loop inside the KDFO recording studio. A miniaturized DJ 3000 continues to fiddle with a complicated contraption of wires and lenses. A miniaturized PETUNIA is seated in front of it, still ranting about the other homeowners’ gardens in Pasadena but more specifically about the homeowners themselves.

PETUNIA: …and then you know what Cristyn Revelle did? She gave the dog away.  And not even back to the rescue agency, she took that poor thing straight to the pound.  That’s why we all call her Cruella Revelle behind her back.  Although maybe with how much she spends at Tartine we should start calling her Crueller Revelle.  There’s only so much yoga and liposuction can do when you pack those things away like…

DJ 3000: [trying to defuse things somewhat] HEY, LET’S CHECK IN ON ONE OF THE MANY SPORTING EVENTS THAT HAPPEN TO BE GOING ON RIGHT NOW, MAYBE THAT SYDNEY SWANS GAME IS STILL UNDERWAY…

DJ 3000 adjusts one of the lenses…

— [portal through space and time flies open] —

TINA TURNER: [blinking in confusion]

PETUNIA: Ms. Turner! Wow!  What an honor!

TINA TURNER: What on earth? Robots? This isn’t the afterlife I was expecting…

JOHN DIMAGGIO: [stepping forward] Hey there Ms. Turner.

TINA TURNER: Oh, hi John.  What are you doing here?  [touches hand to mouth] Oh my God, don’t tell me…but you’re so young!

JOHN DIMAGGIO: No, no, I’m fine.  Well, not according to that quack who took my blood pressure during my last physical, but I’m not dead.  And this isn’t the afterlife – it’s a time loop.

TINA TURNER: [confused] Okay…

DJ 3000: WAIT, YOU TWO KNOW EACH OTHER?

TINA TURNER: Yes, we’ve run into each other in recording studios from time to time.

PETUNIA: We were very sorry to hear that you, um, died.

TINA TURNER: That’s all right.  It happens to us all, eventually.

JOHNNY 2.5: IT’S SO NICE OF YOU TO PASS THROUGH, MS. TURNER.  I WAS ALWAYS A HUGE FAN OF YOURS.  AUNTY ENTITY WAS ONE OF MY FAVORITE MOVIE VILLAINS OF ALL TIME.

TINA TURNER: Why thank you, that means a lot coming from a fellow star of the silver screen.

JOHNNY 2.5: I JUST WISH WE’D GOTTEN TO SEE MORE OF YOUR TALENTS AS AN ACTRESS.

TINA TURNER: Film was fun, but I was always too busy with my music to think seriously about an acting career.

JIM NANCE 081-RD-92C: Wait, you were a musician?

DJ 3000: YOU’RE KIDDING, RIGHT?

JIM NANCE 081-RD-92C: [looks at him] Kidding about what?

PETUNIA: You’ve never heard any of Tina Turner’s music? Private Dancer? Steamy Windows? What’s Love Got to Do With It?

JIM NANCE 081-RD-92C: They don’t play that kind of music at Augusta.

PETUNIA: [flatly] What kind of music?

JIM NANCE 081-RD-92C: You know, popular music.

DJ 3000: SPEAKING OF PLAYING MUSIC, WE SHOULD PROBABLY GET REQUEST LINE RUNNING.  TINA, YOU’RE OUR GUEST OF HONOR, I DON’T SUPPOSE YOU HAVE ANY IDEAS FOR A TOPIC?

TINA TURNER: Oh, I don’t know.

JOHNNY 2.5: I’VE GOT AN IDEA. WHY DON’T WE PAY TRIBUTE TO HER BEYOND THUNDERDOME CHARACTER AND DO “ANTAGONISTS”

TINA TURNER: You mean, like, villains? I like it, let’s roll with it.

DJ 3000: FANTASTIC. GOT ANYTHING TO GET US STARTED WITH?

TINA TURNER: Any genre is fine?

DJ 3000: OH, FOR SURE.

TINA TURNER: In that case, I just might…

Today’s theme is: Villains and Villainesses.  We’re looking for songs about evil people who do bad things.  Post links as “https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d!rD1@Nn and they should embed in the comments after you refresh.  Last week’s puzzle was a tricky one – it stumped everyone – the answer was “delimeatri” which referred to the band Del Amitri and their song “Always the Last to Know”.  Have at it!

Sorry, seems like Horatio got there first with a more interesting version . . . Blair Witch cast her spell on me, apparently

I’ve posted this tune before and the more I look into it, (please don’t ask why this tune has fascinated me for the last few weeks) it’s kinda/sorta inspired by the bass player being tied to a record contract but the video is drawing an equivalence between the Iran hostages and incarceration policies in the U.S.
