We’ve made it through 60% of our Saturday, let’s keep on truckin!
Florida Men (+7.5) at LSU (7:30, ABC)
Look, I get it. Brian Kelly is coaching the home team. But the Florida Men we pointed and laughed at last week? They ain’t making this fucker a single digit affair.
Bonfire Cult (+6.5) at Notre Dame (7:30, NBC)
Seriously, THIS is a 1-point closer matchup? I’d say this game is a true 50/50 tossup. But then again, I do a lot of drugs.
Vanderbilt (+3.5) at South Cakalaky (7:45, SECN)
Poor bastards got stuck with shitty coverage, but I bet I will watch MOAR of this than either headline matchup. Then again…that drugs aspect again.
Duke (+1.5) at Tulane (8:00, ESPN2)
Did the Devils agree to this, as a quasi-apology for stealing the Green Wave QB (and paying him $3M plus)? Shit, imagine how motivated the NEW quartered back will be to make an impression, knowing what moneys could be in store!
Minnesota (-2.5) at California (10:30, ESPN)
Late nite with…the ACC? Screw you, Darkest Timeline. Call this the Golden Derby, with the Gophers in much better shape than the Shower Bears.
Bahstahn Cawledge (-13.5) at Stanford (10:30, ACCN)
Oh my cats, Hodor’s Tree is so very, very bad. After his tenure with the Black Panthers, it only seems right that Frank Reich should have to suffer through this.
THE THIRD!!!

Check it out: Brian Kelly is still a complete arrogant shitheel!
Speaking of boxing, did I ever tell you I met Al Bernstein years ago? He was a friend of a friend of ours, and he came out to Washington when we were at Bangor to visit her. They did musical theater together in Chicago. He was an interesting guy, very knowledgeable on a wide range of subjects. I’m sure he’s probably retired now, but at the time he was hosting Top Ranked Boxing, I think on ESPN.
Cal just exterminated the Gopher Cong.
“We pitched a big tent here”
Slow down, Max. It was a good night of fights, but I’m not getting a boner over it.
We’ll see of Crawford fights again, but supposedly he got something like $12 million for this one and Canelo was closer to $100 million*, so I bet if they flip those figures for a rematch he’ll find his way back to the gym.
*figures from an interview with Dana White, so let’s just say they come with several grains of salt
Yeah yeah jeebus
Noted fan of the fighting arts, Jesus Christ.
Scorecards were way too close, but at least they got the result right.
Well, the right decision, despite how close the judges tried to make it.
Kellerman’s remark about Billy Conn losing to Joe Louis reminded me of the story I heard about that fight.
Conn was a light-heavyweight, and Louis didn’t take him too seriously. Conn outboxed him for most of the fight, and was way ahead on points. Louis got him on the ropes late and said “Great fight, Billy” to which Billy replied “It ain’t over yet, Joe” to which Joe replied “It is for you, Billy” and knocked him the fuck out.
Is it true? Probably not, but it’s a good story.
Billy had to postpone one of his fights with Louis, because he punched his father in law in the head and broke his hand. What a total Yinzer he was!
If Crawford loses this it would be the worst decision I’ve seen since this past November.
Well, they went all twelve. Now all that’s left is to see how corrupt the judges are.
So far Canelo’s best offense has been a head butt.
I know everyone says he’s deadly, but I’m not seeing anything that proves that.
I think it’s age catching up with him. He had some awful body language in the 11th that the announcers just skipped right over.
Ninth round = nice round.

Max Kellerman is very knowledgeable about boxing, but he’ll never miss a chance to use 57 words when 12 would have done the job.
A less obsequious Dennis Miller.
Sorry, it’s a thing we do.
/We both went to the same HS, as I learned. (He graduated in ‘91, I in ‘08.)
Gosh, I hope this doesn’t ruin the field for the Raiders game Monday. They need all the blame they can find.
The Saudi prince in the front row looks like he’s mad that his wings haven’t been delivered yet.
He’s still sad about Epstein Island closing.
Despite all the bullshit, I’m enjoying this fight. This is the first true boxing match I’ve watched in about five years.
The overall card has been very good.
Damn. I’m only able to watch now because WineWife has gone to bed. Too much wine.
I’d like to see Crawford win this, although I like both fighters, but there isn’t a chance in hell he takes a decision over Canelo in Vegas.
He could beat Canelo bloody and lose by 2 points.
The Riyadh Season logo looks like board pieces from the gay pride edition of Trivial Pursuit.
Will that get the logo disappeared?
Well, it’s no longer going to private school in Switzerland, that’s for sure.
