I find it a wee bit interesting, the contrast between the Olds at this tourney, Ronaldo and Messi. The latter is firing on all cylinders as is his team while Ronaldo and his immense ego seem to be dragging down his play and that of his team. Aw well, yet another athlete that stayed well past his due date.

Here’s two views of the Enrico Fermi II nuclear power plant at Stony Point Michigan on Lake Erie. The first is from Reno Beach Ohio (about 20 miles away) on Saturday, and the second is today from the two-lane rural Dixie Highway, an old road that runs from Detroit to Florida and goes right past the plant.

I’ve never been here before, but I could give you a tour of the entire plant and the control room and I could tell you what everything does. I could probably walk in there and apply for a job, either supervising everything or perhaps taking outstanding photos of the cooling towers from various angles, or maybe be a tour guide who wears a submarine veteran ball cap and keeps talking about himself.

Speaking of that, this is the first time in my life I’ve actually seen cooling towers in person.
