Your Barren Monday Night Open Thread

Well, that was that. Patty will be adding to his legacy going forward but I think it’s safe to say that this will be his worst Super Bowl performance. Went out on a limb there, huh? It’s Monday so I’ll be doing the usual-

Fallout:

-Qaron has been tossed to the gutter by the Jets which is a humiliation the likes of which none of us will ever experience. Good for him.

-Prediction-wise I can pretty much guarantee that Saquon will get injured next year after his usage this year. Philly/Barkley got so lucky this year and reaped the benefits. Aaron Jones is available on the cheap and is a +1 sub.

-The Commanders have a ton of cap space. They also have 28(!) unrestricted agents on their roster. That includes 5 defensive starters and almost all of their wr corps not named Scarey.

-Curious as what Minny is going to do at QB. Darnold blew expectations away so a GM that signed him and was proven right might be inclined to lean in there. HOWEVER. That same fella also drafted McCarthy at the 10th pick and could sit on a rookie contract and open up possibilities.

-What does San Fran do with Deebo? The dude is super frustrated with his (to him) arbitrary usage. But that’s the way that Shanny Jr gameplans. It’s obvious that coach doesn’t have everyone onboard as far as the overall system is concerned. I think Deebo is let go and a mid wr signing is done.

-The Giants QB Thingy: This league has come to understand that next-level QB’s take franchises to the next level. Thing is, Ward and Sanders are at the top of their class and are extremely flawed. If GM Shoen signs a free agent QB (Darnold with a one year out?) and drafts a d/o lineman I’ll know that he isn’t just following the herd. (I don’t have high hopes)

-Read somewhere that the Falcons are in a tight spot money-wise and have a difficult decision to make about whether to re-sign Pitts. There’s a conversation within the organization to extend Pitts! There’s also a conversation within my family whether or not to dump that dead housefly into the garbage.

-OMG Dallas!?: When your father/son GM team loves shiny objects you end up in a situation whereby you have to sign Micah after you’ve just given 100’s of millions to DAK! and LAMB! And then you’ve handcuffed yourself because each of you have to spend hours and hours on scouting which could be spent on hookers and the hookers don’t know anything about defensive backs from historically black colleges and you’ve lost touch with the game so much that you don’t really give a fuck about any player outside the SEC because they get the most coverage when you turn on the TV because you’re that old that you depend on the frickin’ TV to still be a source of salient info? And then your next move is to fire that scout guy that gave you that info in an email despite the fact that you told him to do so. Because you have a lingering memory of your daughter mentioning Snapchat being this cool thing. Your daughter? She’s an extraordinarily talented individual but has no place in the organization because she ain’t got the penis. The End.
