Once again the NHL does some heavy lifting-quality games include Mtl/Min, Ott/Fla, StL/Bos and Chi/Dal. The Rangers and Detroit are also skating their hearts out.

I pity you poor fools who have not seen Mothman Prophecies. A skin-crawlingly good film, even if it does star Richard Gere. Only two movies in my life have given me nightmares: Night of the Living Dead (which I saw when I was maybe five or six), and Mothman. It’s… it’s an experience. And if you REALLY want to stay up all night for a week, read the book.

Forgive me then. While I’d rather shoot myself in the thigh with a nailgun than watch Pretty Woman, I do concur that Gere is actually capable of acting. I also understand that a lot of others don’t get Mothman, but, from a personal and just thriller fan, it’s a good’un.

The prequels were not good movies, but (and I know this will be unpopular) watching the original trilogy without the nostalgia lens reveals them to be pretty shitty, too.

While I see your point, I originally read the article thinking they would be mocking these kids. When it became apparent they were reporting this as actual news, my blood boiled.
There have actually been several instances in the last few years of schools serving fried chicken for black history presentations and getting raked over the coals for it. It’s kind of a weird gray area because while certain foods have become associated with stereotypes, many of them have an actual cultural history. I think it being offensive or not should be based more on someone’s intent and/or presumptuousness rather than just declaring it across-the-board offensive. I also think I’m spending way too much time thinking about this.
