We are working to get it to the point in which these ship to shore cranes are fully undermanned. As it stands, I can keep this particular port running without disruption in close to a million individual moves, (the disruptions are always operator error).
I want you all to remember this the next fucking time the officials can’t tell if a fucking football went over the uprights or not.
The reasoning in soccer is a bit interesting. Since organized soccer has the exact same rules at every level, some considered the ability to use technology at one level but not another was having different rules.
I don’t really buy it, but the “we should have the same rule at all levels” thing is something I like.
I think it could be a great way to assist the officiating. The off sides call in soccer is crucial and it gets blown all the time. It would be so fucking easy to real time track the position of the players in relation to the ball.
Plus at the higher levels, they REALLY desire the ability to rig things. Being able to hide behind egalitarian bullshit is a great bonus.
Oh I totally believe that is the biggest resistance to it in FIFA.
With baseball, especially with calling balls and strikes, I get that it would be much more difficult to come up with the “perfect” strike zone since its different for every batter.
But it would be easy as shit to be able to real time track a baseball to determine if its a home run or fall ball.
Tennis would be the best example of this.
