And Now, Please Rise For Our National Anthem

Oh, say can you see,

By the dawn’s early light,

What so proudly we hailed,

At the twilight’s last gleaming?

Whose broad stripes and bright stars,

Through the perilous fight,

O’er the ramparts we watched,

LOS ANGELES, CA - NOVEMBER 28: Hundreds of Los Angeles Police Officers in riot gear form a skirmish line as they attempt to clear the streets around Los Angeles City Hall of Occupy LA demonstrators after the deadline to dismantle the occupy campsite expired on November 28, 2011 in Los Angeles, California. Los Angeles Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa last week gave the protesters outside City Hall until 12:01 am today to dismantle their protest campsite and leave. (Photo by Kevork Djansezian/Getty Images)

Were so gallantly streaming.

And the rocket’s red glare,

riot police

The bombs bursting in air,

church fire

Gave proof through the night,

That our flag was still there.

Oh say does that star spangled banner yet wave,

redneck

O’er the land of the free,

I’m just here to join the crowd and say this is awesome. It made me so happy.

If you’d like a good companion piece, check out the guest artist Rappoccio had: http://www.thedrawplay.com/comic/colin-kaepernick-by-rory-riggins/

This made me proud that you are passport-buddies with my daughter. I would be too, but I’ve yet to renew it.

Loved the post man.

I hate to break in without a hot taek or something ironic or witty, but this was pretty great. After all this time, I guess I should stop being surprised that I find the best social/political commentary on a football/dick joke blog. (Or at least I should stop making this same lame comment every few months or so.) Well done SoS.

To me the whole thing reeks of “I’m no longer relevant, let me make myself so”. But in the end, if there is progress made, good. I’m not seeing a lot of solutions come from discussions. I know there’s a lot of racist backlash out there on both sides. It’s white people who are the problem! No it’s black people! Good news is where I live and work, people seem to behave civilly enough.

I stood for the duration of this national anthem post, but only because I was peeing.

I’ll stand but I’m gonna spend the whole time playing on my phone and dick-grabbing with my pals while eye-fucking that MILF three rows down before taking off my hat halfway through and trying to yelp a humorous ‘Woooooo! ‘merika!’ when the singer holds the high notes at the end.

And then we all clap, have a seat, and proceed to lay the groundwork for what will be a 2nd quarter fight between four fans of the home team.

I think it’s fine that you want to express your opinion but I think it’s wrong that you do it by using the hard work of some many photographers and #content producers without giving them credit. You know, there are countries where the government spies on its citizenry and doesn’t allow them to post such propaganda.
