This week has been a real scorcher temperature-wise with hot temps all over the southern United States. Sexy Friday, as always, is bringing you more heat in the form of hot Tik Tok girls to keep you sweating through the weekend.

The AFL has some great games tonight starting with the GWS Giants hosting the Brisbane Lions at 8:45 PM Pacific on Fox Sports 2. The Sydney Swans take on the Gold Coast Suns shortly after that game finishes at 11:35 PM Pacific on the Watch AFL app.
ESPN has the “MLS is Back” tournament from the cesspool that is Central Florida. ESPN has DC United against the New England Revolution at 5 PM Pacific while ESPN2 has Sporting KC against the Colorado Rapids at the same time. At 7:30 PM, ESPN continues the coverage with Real Salt Lake against Minnesota United. That is, of course, assuming games don’t get canceled/postponed because of the COVID.
That’s pretty much it for sports. There will be more soccer tomorrow with the lone EPL match between Norwich City and Burnley at 9:30 AM Pacific and the FA Cup Semifinal between Arsenal and Manchester City at 11:45 AM Pacific. I can feel the angst of the Arsenal fans all the way from the West Coast.

As I mentioned before, I’ve decided that I must take up the mantle that tWBS ran with and help to make this world a better place. I will do this in the one way he couldn’t: By introducing you to good music!
My aim each week will be to showcase a tune or band from the 80s (the best decade EVAR!) that not many people know about or have heard of. In this way, hopefully these artists will find new audiences and the old audiences can reminisce about what they were doing in the 80s.
Today is the second of a two-part post!
Last week, we delved into the music of Adam and the Ants. Today, we talk about the songs that Adam Ant released as a solo act. Granted, he really wasn’t completely solo as he had a backing band and that band had a few members of the Ants in it.
However, Adam did change his songs to reflect the New Wave sounds that were all the rage in the early 80s. In 1982, he broke up “Adam and the Ants” and released his first solo album, “Friend or Foe”. This album kept the use of two drummers and could be considered to be a natural progression from the last Adam and the Ants album.
It produced several massive hits, including my all-time favourite Adam Ant song, “Desperate But Not Serious”:
and “Goody Two Shoes”:
Finally, the title track, “Friend or Foe” got massive radio airplay:
As you can see, Adam went all out with the music videos and they were on heavy rotation on MTV back in the days when they actually played music.
The following year, Adam Ant released the album “Strip” with the title track garnering much attention and many sales:
Did a Young Balls dedicate this song to a girl he liked in middle school? Yes, he did! Did it work? No, it did not!
That album also produced a modest hit with Puss n Boots. Adam went back to the studio and shortly released “Vive Le Rock” which featured two hits, one being the title track, and the other called “Apollo 9”:
After 1985, Adam took a bit of a break from creating albums. He came back at the end of the decade with the album “Manners and Physique”. This album produced the hit, “Room at the Top”:
After another five year break, Adam came back with the album, “Wonderful”. Again, the title track was the standout. It remains one of my favourite songs ever:
Adam’s career took a turn as he got involved with television and acting and stopped recording. In addition, he went through some mental health issues that he is still dealing with to this day.
In 2013, he put out a comeback album entitled, “Adam Ant Is the Blueblack Hussar in Marrying the Gunner’s Daughter” which was a return to the days of his very first album with Adam and the Ants in the sense that it was experimental, raw, and did not follow conventions. It did fairly well in the UK, producing the hit, “Cool Zombie”:
Adam Ant was still playing shows at the time the pandemic hit. His 2020 tour was supposed to feature a song-by-song replay of the Friend or Foe album in a similar vein to what The Cure did with their Disintegration shows in Australia.
And yes, he still has TWO MOTHERFUCKING DRUMMERS PLAYING AT THE SAME TIME in his shows!

Portland’s next DA is a progressive who is going to take over an office that needs to be entirely replaced along with every cop and sheriff‘s deputy in the county, including the sheriff. I cannot overstate how racist and violent and pro-fascist the Portland police are (complete with neo-nazi members) and they are probably harder than anyone viewing Moose’s gifs at the idea of disappearing and beating the fucking hell out of protesters and random people trying to help the homeless in and around downtown with the full force of the U.S. government and all of the DHS and DOJ thugs like the marshal who shot an unarmed protester in the head with a less lethal rubber bullet and fractured his skull and nearly killed him. (It turns out the IRL versions of Raylin Givens are the same kind of sadistic motherfuckers but without any of Givens’s charm). The mayor here is worthless. The city council is worthless. And the governor is a feckless loser.
Just as an aside, the Chief Justice of the Oregon Supreme Court sat on her ass doing nothing for TWO YEARS before finally issuing an order prohibiting ICE agents from kidnapping people inside state courthouses. Liberal cowardice trickles down from the top in every branch and every level of government not unlike them pissing themselves in fear at actually exercising power and taking a stand in the name of justice. Neo-Nazis and fascists can conspire to commit and then commit a terrorist attack on people and property on video and not be prosecuted. That’s how things are in the liberal utopia of Portlandia.
But it is absolutely no coincidence that Portland is the trial balloon for this illegal crackdown, and it is just the trial balloon. Just like it’s not a coincidence that Seattle and Minneapolis will be next, and everyone knows it. Because the leftists and antifa and general weirdos that I’m ostensibly aligned with politically are not going anywhere. The city has replaced black lives with BLM signs, but there are still people of all identity markets (because that’s all identity politics is for – To divide people and sell shit) who are willing to fight because they actually believe in things and they do care. And I’m not one of them because I know they will never win or never change anything. But they won’t stop because this is the crux of the fight: this is their home, our home, and they actually want it to not suck for anyone who is trying to live here. And they’ll be here long after Chad Wolf and DHS and all of these racist and fascist thugs and neck-stompers wander off.
Anyway, this is also why nothing will ever significantly change for the better here. Because there are very few people who have the willingness to lose everything, and cost those around them everything. It’s better and safer to suffer in certainty while things are chipped away than to risk it all and likely lose everything and cause everyone around you to lose everything for the chance of making things slightly better for yourself or other people who aren’t even you.
It’s poignant that John Lewis died tonight. The freedom rides were organized knowing that volunteers would be harmed and eventually murdered. The march to Selma was organized with the expectation of massive violence (no one seems to recall the term Massive Resistance anymore, which is one of the many reasons why I hate anyone calling themselves any kind of “resistance”). It was insurgency. And they cannot survive unless there is some kind of large popular or state support. I don’t expect the state of Oregon or any government to actually do anything, but the people will. I don’t know how or why people here give a shit about each other or these protesters, but they do. No one I know does, but that’s because everyone I know actually has shit to lose.
Anyway, it’s fucked up here. And in the middle of a pandemic. But luckily the fact that everyone has a short attention span helps and it helps that Trump has no attention span and is a lazy, cowardly loser who will not do anything to risk looking like the loser he is. It’s why there aren’t Marines fighting in the streets of Caracas in spite of ghouls like John Bolton and others pushing him to do just that. So that’s cool, I guess.
There’s a distinct lack of cohesion and organization among Leftists. And that sucks, but it’s also the nature of the beast. It’s hard to unify around a single ideal when the Leftists are split among Socialists/Communists/Tankies/Climate Activists/ADOS/etc. who all have their own agendas, and none of whom have the corporate-sponsorship of the major parties. And it’s doubly hard when grass roots movements are often co-opted by these interests.
Honestly? I’m sick of Trump and his bullshit. Of course. At the same time, the Dems uniting behind Biden is almost mystifying. He’s (so far) running on nothing but “not Trump,” which might win him the election…but it might not. It’s depressing. He showed real weakness in the early debates, enough so that he was probably the least electable candidate on the stage. But slow & steady wins the race, I guess.
I dunno. I’m not butt-hurt over Bernie losing, as he never showed the aggression needed to win (especially against his good buddy Joe), but I am depressed at the depths the Dems have fallen into since the ’80s.

I work for the Department of Defense, and due to foot surgery in December 2019 that kept me at home until mid-March, I have been sitting at home for over seven months (got three days in at the office before we were all told to work from home). I told my boss last week that I was not going to even consider returning to “normal” work situation (i.e. going into the office on the regular) until there was a vaccine.
I get the vibe from military leadership that they are not willing to sacrifice the lives of our airmen or we civilians in order to get orangeboy re-elected. I grew up as a military dependent in several locations that military coup d’etats took place, and survived them, and would welcome one right fucking now if it were to occur.
I get that. I live near a Superfund site that the Trump admin has attempted to defund at least twice now. What could go wrong with that, right? So, boy do I want him gone. Although I would argue that a military coup sets a bad precedent, as well as unrealistic expectations for future problems, which I would think the military would want to steer well clear of. Although I could be wrong about that…I really have no input to give regarding military lines of thought.
That’s a goal.
