Without further ado, it’s
Balls’ Sechs
1- The Brisbane Lions needed to beat the Pies, and they did, but it came at a cost in the form of an injury to their brilliant defender Harris Andrews. The Lions’ chances at a Top Two spot will ride on how long he’ll be out and how well they can cover his absence.
2- Richmond struggled mightily against the Dockers, who could have shown everyone how to beat the Tigers if they had actually beaten them. This was the definition of winning ugly, but it was a win nonetheless.
3- The Giants are continuing to win and are now inside the Eight. Keep it up and they’re playing finals again and could return to the Grand Final.
4- Speaking of, the AFL announced that the Grand Final will be held this year at The Gabba near Brisbane. Details on home venues for finals teams will be decided at a later date. From what I’ve read, teams that earn a “home” final will get a choice of venues in either Queensland, South Australia, or Western Australia.
5- The list of teams no longer eligible for finals continues to grow. Joining North Melbourne and Adelaide are Hawthorn, Sydney, and Fremantle. The Gold Coast Suns need to win all of their remaining games and get some help.
6- Round 16 starts tonight, so make sure to put your footy tips in!

That’s all for this week.
As discussed last week, Fox Sports has the rights to the AFL in the United States while TSN has the rights in Canada and the AFL is pressuring them to have more games available on the FS1, FS2, and TSN networks. Now is the perfect chance for you to see what all the fun is about!
Not only that, but ESPN has jumped back into the AFL pool! They’ll be broadcasting one game per week live on an ESPN network and streaming another live on ESPN3.
You can find the latest broadcast information on the Australian Football Association of North America website here.
Here is your Round 16 live broadcast schedule with North American broadcast partner:
