I was a B.A. in Economics. That, combined with the fact that I haven’t been back there since the 90s, means I probably don’t have any useful advice about the graduate music progrm in the 2020s.
For what it’s worth, I enjoyed it. The campus is beautiful, and London is a nice place. GTD is right that it has (or at least had) the reputation as a party school; I’m not sure how true that really was because I don’t have much to compare it to. I came from a heavy drinking town, so it’s not like I can be trusted on these things.
And yeah, there was a “rich kid” subculture, but I barely interacted or noticed them, so I wouldn’t worry about that.
I partied there, t’was indeed a party school back in the day.
London is nice. Small town feel in a bigger city. There’s literally a corn field in the city or used to be. Has everything you’d need in a city.
Western is known as a party school and for the students having lots o moneys. While they have a well known name, and I’m sure one would get a good education from it, I was glad when my oldest didn’t go there.
