How Does One Fill The Time? A Thursday Open Thread

Football-wise I’m just counting down the days until the draft hits. There might just be some Ottawa Senators playoff hockey though. Not seen in the wild since 2017! I’m curious what the Giants are doing at #3 and I think they have four in the top 100 but they’ll probably blow it in Year 3 of The Rebuild.

Here’s some football news, such as it is-

White Guy Stays Long Past His Expiry Date: Part the Millionth. 90 year-old Lee Corso is hanging up the Depends in August after 40(!) years on College Game Day. ESPN noted, “He wore funny hats while making his game picks!” Guh. He’ll be missed, for about a week.

Is there a more perfectly-named player entering the transfer portal than ex-Vols QB Nico Iamaleava? I think not.

Good Franchise/Bad Franchise: Is this a riff on a Led Zeppelin tune? You bet your fat ass it is! Browns GM/fanboy Andrew Berry is totally onboard with cb/wr Travis Hunter playing all the reps he wants on both sides of the ball because, “he’s so exciting!”. Over Baltimore way, level-headed Ravens GM Eric DeCosta lowered the boom-(not remotely verbatim but here’s your gist) “We’d find out where he has the most talent and play him there. The game has gotten incredibly complex and there are only so many hours in a day to prepare. He’d get exposed at some point and it would probably be on defense.”

Also Ravens: That rb they signed that ran for 1900+ yards last year? They’re getting him on the cheap for a mere 6 mil in 2025.
