Monday Night Open Thread – As the World Burns

Tonight, for my money, the Stanley Cup game is what has the best bet of being entertaining.  Series tied 1-1.  And it should be a good game, better than watching LA burn.  There are a lot of baseball games going on, the WWL has the listing.

Had a great weekend, as it was the wife’s bday so I tried to coddle her as much as possible so we had a great weekend.  Word count, word count.

I used to make fun of the people who spent so much money on their hidden bunkers or remote cabins.  Now, now I am jealous of them.  I would love to just go into a well outfitted bunker and just disappear for a few years.  I would rather learn about what happened than live through it at this point.

In the spirit of the 25 Questions posts, I started asking my wife questions in that vein while watching GEICO commercial where the gecko is at breakfast and talks about bundling insurance.  So the first question was, is the gecko a friend, an overnight guest, the host of an AIRBnB, but why would he be having breakfast with these people?  And who served him, why would you give a gecko a human sized portion of foods that are probably poisonous to the gecko.  And if it is a friend, was he friends with one of the couple first?  And why is it not considered rude for the gecko to wander around basically barefoot on a table where food is being served?

First, an enquiry was made into the level of stonation I was experiencing (only 2 on a 11 point scale), next was a sigh, and a quietly spoken “I do love you”.  No answers were offered up, so, does that commercial bring up questions in your mind, do you have any answers?
