We introduce the last group of the Women’s European Euros today.  When they got drawn in this Group, do you think they all sang We got the Big D!!

Based on the first 3 days, looking pretty hard for anyone to keep up with Spain and/or Germany.  Though I will always keep a (pervert) eye out for the lovely Nordic goddesses, as they fall away one by one.  Que lastima.

I’m not so sure about that – I think a lot of them prefer to view the victim through a “they had it coming” lens to assuage any guilt and/or social repercussions. It’s why you have heels in wrestling. Outside of the genuine sociopaths, it’s more enjoyable when you can feel like the victim deserves it.

Oh, and I forgot to update y’all on 2312-13 Pretend Middlesbrough. They pulled out a few more Draws, and I only beat them by a solitary goal in the penultimate round (to Gilkey’s dismay, even though that sufficed to clinch the title).

Yet still, Boro is arguably the worst squadron of all time, 7 points (all from Draws, to go with 31 losses) and a -94 goal differential.

Last night didn’t seem to be too traumatic for our pets. Two things helped, I think. First, we didn’t go outside to watch at all, so the dog didn’t perceive all the noise as necessarily anything other than noise. And the second is that they are getting old and deaf so the fireworks aren’t as noticeable.

We were at a backyard BBQ yesterday where there were several dogs, all friendly. Then the fireworks started and, as I was petting some sort of Rottweiler mix, it go upset and bit me. Barely broke the skin and everything fine with some hydrogen peroxide but still, if you’re a dog owner you should probably keep your dog from biting the only lawyer at the party.
