Before we get to the footy, I just want to highly, HIGHLY recommend Ken Burns’ The Revolution (streaming free on PBS). It doesn’t pay short shrift to the moral shortcomings of 18th century America, but it also (maybe especially so, since it doesn’t come off as hagiography – FFS, they even prominently include a LIMEY historian smgdh) vividly demonstrate why we keep fighting for both the nation and the idea that is the United States of America. I was born here, I will die here. The people who left so much blood in the soil to make both idea and nation happen? I won’t surrender their sacrifice to the fascists. No matter the cost.
Also, the International Break is over, and huzzah for that. But yeah, I understand giving the early morning feature (White Lives Matter v. Chelski, 7:330, USA) a miss.
We get a little Clubhouse intrigue at 10:00, with yeah right’s Cherries taking on Fronk’s Rum Ham (USA). Trashbirds/Praise Beesus is a viable streaming alternative for one’s second screen. Barcodes against City of Men (12:30, NBC) are in the spotlight, and hopefully Eddie Howe’s struggles continue and the Geordie Arabians spiral into the depths. Probably not, though.
With no Euro-fixture in NFL terms, we get a tasty North London Derby (Spurs away to Gooners/King’s Afrikan Water Pistols, 11:30 on Peacock) to carry us into RedZone glory. Everton go into Men Untied (PHRASING!) on MNF, but ain’t nobody want to see that.
Thank fuck we move to 9 SEC game schedule next season (PPPPAAAAWWWWLLLLLLL), because this “bye week” shit is embarrassing.
Missouri (+6.5) at Steerfuckers North (Noon, ABC)
Don’t go sucking each others’ pricks just yet, Okiehoma. There is work left to do before that playoff ticket is validated. This could be interesting, and will almost assuredly be physical and low-scoring.
Louisville (+2.5) at Death By SMU-SMU (Noon, ESPN2)
Not a whole lot to choose from, in terms of a flipping option. But the Ponies could easily make the ACC title game for the 2nd time in two tries (despite a pretty shambolic non-conference performance). That would amuse Hippo, so here ya go.
Troi Boiz (+10.5) at Quack Attack (3:30, CBS)
Your classic B1G matchup, amirite?? At least CBS gets a non-awful game this week (though still laughing about the Paedo/Sparty shitburger they ate). Everyone will stop trying to shoehorn SC into the playoff mix once they get their shit pushed in here.
Kenfucky (+8.5) at Vanderbilt (3:30, ESPN)
Have the hunters truly become the hunted? Lots of commentators foresee the Blue Moons fucking up Team Pavia’s Quixotic playoff quest – and yeah, they could get caught looking ahead to the Vols next weekend. But I am not one of those. It could be close, but I expect the ‘Dores to win.
Pirate Kansas (+8.5) at Steerfuckers South (3:30, ABC)
Can you believe the line is under 10 here? That said, the Fightin’ Petrinos (REDUX) have been a tough out since he took over. They just, you know. Don’t NEVAR win none.
Unded Bill Snyders (+17.5) at Team Secular Big Love (4:00, ESPN2)
K State needs one of their last two to make a December exhibition, but the Utes have been quite the prototypical Flat Track Bully. Outside of their two (respectable) losses, they have mostly flattened their opponents, especially in recent weeks. Too bad it is very unlikely they can squeak into the Twaaaallllvvvve championship game, since TT and Original Recipe each hold head-to-head tiebreaker.
Watching Death in Paradise season 8 – episode 5/6 eep! Florence!
49ers void Brandon Aiyuk’s contract guarantees for 2026 season – CBS Sports
49ers: “Thank you for your pain and sacrifice, get the fudge out!”
He declined to file a Union grievance, so sommet weird is going down there,
The 49ers know something, and they probably agreed not to share it with everyone else so he can get one last contract.
RumoUr is he’s been out of contact, not going to team meetings etc. Sounds like some conflict with the organization and he wants to be released to go elsewhere
Vandy currently squeaking past Kentucky, 45-10 with 13 minutes left.
Is that Urlacher’s kid on the pickerception?
That can’t be a coincidence.
The old man CBS crew is clearly losing its grip on reality, and it makes me a little sad.
Yeah, Danielson especially sounds like he should be sent out to pasture.
(Whereas I, the picture of virility, am folding socks.)
Broadcast-wise, they really are the last remaining vestige of sportsball-maniac childhood. I had not recognized that until now.
YAAAYYYYYYY, having a foot in the grave is teh tits
Okay, Oregon, you seem to be doing better. As for you, Utah…

On the walk this morning the container ship that caught on fire was right there off the harbor entrance and the fire boats were in full deploy.
It’s pretty cool to see the fireboats do their 360 dance while spraying water in the air.
They say the fire is mostly contained now.
This is the biggest thing non gang- related to happen in Pedro since the one Scott brother dove off the Vincent Thomas Bridge.
Good thing it happened in port, fire at sea is no bueno. Would have enjoyed watching the fireboats!
They found out what caused the Baltimore bridge crash, it was a single loose wire where there was a label preventing it from inserting all the way. Crazy stuff!
“Really? Cause I heard it was because the wire simply wasn’t long enough to get the job done.” – Deanna Favre
