Flotsam and Jetsam:

-Justin Herbert (though he sat out practice today) is planning on playing Monday night despite having surgery on his fractured non-throwing hand a mere three days ago. That’s just bonkers to me.

-Darius Slay is not reporting to the Bills (at this time) despite being claimed on waivers by them. Was he expecting to head back to Philly who had also put a claim in? Having no inside info on his thinking, it would be irresponsible on my part not to speculate.

-Too Much Heavy Lifting?: Jalen Carter is out at least one week after having a procedure done on both shoulders. Just the thing the Chargers run game loves to hear.

To The Game

Cowboys/Lions:

-Guh. This pains me to say but Dallas looks as though they have addressed their shortcomings defensively (the run game) in an effective manner. [bile rises in esophagus]

-As he is wont to do, Jerry will be sharing credit for the above with all members of the Boys organization. (I couldn’t find the ubersarcastic font, sue me)

-Shoutout to Dak for being the catalyst on the offense as the other side of the ball was being figured out. Imagine how much he’d be embraced/loved if he didn’t play in a thoroughly racist community. The fact that I can’t think of a single town that has unabashedly grasped a black QB to their bosom undercuts the above. Wait. Maybe Warren Moon in…Edmonton? Maybe Condredge Holloway in Ottawa?

-Aidan Hutchinson is going to get plenty of saliva on his balls tonight from the announcers but this “superstar” only has a Fellini-like 8 1/2 sacks to date.
