I don’t know man, this seems to have ‘blowout’ written all over it. Maybe the Chargers will surprise us with a cromulent outing but they just lost to the Packers. Are they giving up or are they just the same old inconsistent squad? Hard to tell, really.
To The Game!
Ravens/Chargers:
-Flowers should bloom now that ball hog Andrews is sorta done for the year. (watch LAMAR! send Likely all those extra targets)
-The Chargers give up a whore-ish 291(!) passing yards per game but Staley is on the right track and feeling no pressure and everything is fine, for sure. When you ask him ignore the flecks of spittle coming from his mouth, he’s probably had his shots.
-Not only do they have problems thru the air, the Chargers are bottom two against qb’s that 1.) use play action and 2.) make plays outside the pocket. Yeah, they are screwed tonight-it’s just a matter of whether Herbie can keep up.
-Depending on the metric used these are the best and worst defenses in the league at the moment.
-Baltimore is favored by a hat trick. Excuse my Canada, it comes out here and there.
-This Year’s Jamaal Williams: You remember that guy that got all those TD’s from in close last year? Gus Edwards takes a back seat to the flashy guys like Lamar and Keaton Mitchell but just gets the job done. Most of his TD’s have come from a distance about the same as to you and your TV.
-Want to see an effective Wink Martindale defense? Just check out what Ravens Mike McDonald has thrown together this year-same pressure concepts, same weird alignments but not quite as much blitzing. Oh, and a lot more individual talent.
-This more patient approach has led to guys you’ve never heard of, like defensive tackle Justin Madubuika being on the cusp (9.5) of double digit sacks.
-The Chargers get te Everett and wr Guyton back so there’s that.
Stay safe out there.
