Notes and Comments
Look at Rikki’s Bombers up in third place and beating the Giants! Are they for real or are they setting RTD up for a classic Raiders-esque collapse? Alls I know is that Essendon Bombers bandannas are available for sale online…
It looks like the best team in the competition just might be the Sydney Swans. They won again in convincing fashion by thoroughly thrashing Fremantle in Perth, which is not an easy thing to do.
That’s two ties already this year as the Crows and Lions couldn’t settle things in Adelaide. I really hope no one gets the idea of pushing to use overtime in AFL. Since there are four points awarded for a win, the two points for a tie is significant enough that it makes sense to keep it.
You can tell there is a significant drop in quality at the bottom of the ladder when you see some of the blowouts that have taken place. Clearly, North Melbourne, West Coast, and Richmond are not on the same level as Gold Coast, Collingwood, and Western and they are mid-ladder teams!
Great job to Dolph Ucker for getting an amazing 8 correct picks this week! He also picked the winning margin correctly in the Carlton-Melbourne game! That’s really close to a perfect week.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website.
Don’t forget to put the Footy Tips in!
See you next week!
