Welcome to yet another edition of DFO Radio. Last week, Hollywood insiders with a passing interest in sports waited with bated breath to find out whether Kobe Bryant would be offered membership into an exclusive club that includes Roman Polanski, Harvey Weinstein, Dustin Hoffman, and Casey Affleck. Fortunately for Kobe, the Academy used Peter King’s standards in evaluating his movie (both in ignoring the rape allegations, and letting their fawning adoration for celebrity be the basis for their decision) and welcomed him aboard while continuing to proclaim that things are going to be different and that mistreatment of females working within “the industry” would end.
Despite some fears that “filmmaking” would be too tricky of a subject for the Commentist Party to handle, it was proven that WINTER IS WHEN WE THRIVE and the invasion of doubters was soundly beaten back. Pick of the Week goes to BrettFavresColonoscopy for the classic “Celluloid Heroes” by The Kinks. I hope you’re able to concentrate this week despite the apparent implosion of our federal government, I’ll be back on Friday with a new guest and a new topic.
A-1 song selecting.
Great list, as always.
Obligatory up yours Spotify. Solidarity with RTD. Woooooo!!!!!
I think I’ll start drinking early tonight.
So my apologies to folks who have been enjoying the Spotify links; the idiots there got greedy and canceled the subscription tier I’ve been using for the last five years and I refuse to pay twice as much. Nice job pissing on your oldest and most loyal customers, guys.

i’ve got a premium account( ohh look, he thinks he’s fancy) so i can help out if need be.
I appreciate that. I doubt I’ll be locked out of their API or anything so I suppose I can still do the links without any trouble, but it does piss me off that I’ve been loyal to them for this long (practically since they were publicly available) and now they’re just yanking the tier of service that I use.
That bet I made on 45’s resignation before the 2020 election is starting to look prettay, pretty good. I trust evidence comes from people with real names. Sam Nunberg? Gimme a break.
I think if he follows through with those tariffs, the business types will force him out. Tariffs are the worst.
“Tariffs are definitely worse than Nazis”
–Paul Ryan
“Wait a minute…National Socialist German Workers’ Party…? That sounds like socialism. Maybe Nazi’s *are* worse.” – Paul Ryan, resuming his natural state of uncertainty
I promised that I would literally eat a baseball hat if he’s out by July. I’ll do it, too. Happily.
“You got a recipe for that to share?”
-A. Reid
I believe he’s out sometime this calendar year.
Save your money, he ain’t going nowhere. He’s too useful of an idiot for the real money that runs things. I hate him more than you do but this is just a fact.
