NFL Nuggets:
- Your Deshaun/Decrimebeat! update – the discovery process began today.
- Unfamiliar as I am with Texas civil law, I do know that this begins the process of each side officially investigating the evidence the other party has.
- Depositions are scheduled to begin in September.
- It is unclear whether there have been talks about settlements.
- This has been both confirmed & denied by members of various legal teams.

- **sigh** Aaron Rodgers didn’t attend Packers OTAs.
- Matt Lafleur said all the right things when asked:
- “[He’s] such an important part to our organization. We’re just going to continue to try to work through this and hopefully we can get him back in the building at some point.”
- Rodgers, before getting told off by Kenny Mayne on his last broadcast, took a veiled shot at the front office:
- “I love the coaching staff, love my teammates, love the fan base in Green Bay. Incredible 16 years. It’s just kind of about a philosophy and maybe forgetting that it is about the people that make the thing go. It’s about character, it’s about culture, it’s about doing things the right way.”

- Despite what I saw with my own eyes last season, Dak Prescott is participating in OTAs at Cowboys camp.
- He is still being held out of drills involving a pass rush to avoid the chance that a defender trips near him, but is otherwise running in all drills.
- “I wouldn’t say necessarily limited,” Prescott said. “I would just say we are being cautious. … I’m pretty much full-go.”

- New Cardinal JJ Watt has come up with a shoe to honour Pat Tillman, just in time for Memorial Day.
- He worked with Tillman’s widow on the design, called the JJ IV Valor.
- The shoe will be two different shades of grey — Trek and Boulder — and Rich Red. There will be a camouflage design on the heel as well as “PT40” inscriptions, a Pat Tillman Foundation sock liner, and a commemorative hangtag.
- Reebok will donate $10 to the Pat Tillman Foundation for each pair of shoes that is sold up to $10,000, and Watt will donate all of his personal proceeds from the shoe to the Pat Tillman Foundation.

I trust everyone else had a good Monday. I woke up to Lambeau yelping & WineWife losing her mind. So, to appease her, against my better (i.e.- Scottish) judgement we spent the day waiting two hours to get in to see an emergency vet,

only to be told after the expensive battery of tests that because we weren’t a regular patient we would need to see our vet in order to have the diagnosis confirmed & medication prescribed.

He is resting comfortably right now, because we were at least able to get some pain meds for him.

The problem is apparently an auto-immune disease called Masticatory muscle myositis, which is a fancy name for chronic jaw pain brought on by the Devil. Apparently, the dog’s immune system identifies the dog’s own muscle tissue as foreign and attacks it. Luckily, he can still eat, because the kibble we buy is small enough that he can hoover it down without chewing. But every time he wakes up & yawns, it sounds like someone is stabbing him right in my feelings and then the HVAC starts pumping cut onion fumes through the house. From what I made out from someone’s late-night not-at-all-crazy internet research, it looks like a 28-day regimen of steroids & antibiotics will be the prescribed course, and the hope that we caught it early enough.
