Grandpap was in the Navy during the island hopping of WWII and later Korea. He never talked about it. I had an elementary school project to talk to our grandparents about their youths. I tried to ask him, even press him, about it. Keep in mind, I was a kid, maybe nine or ten. I still feel bad about it, but, I was still a kid, trying to do a class project. That Depression/WWII generation stands as an example of resourcefulness and dedication.
