Bo Jackson is the latest retiree to come out and say that, based on modern concussion research, he would have avoided playing football. It makes me a bit sad to think that access to a flux capacitor would keep us from knowing the joy of Bozworth getting pwned on Monday Night Football.

Finally, Richard Sherman has produced another excellent statement on management-player relations in the NFL. Over at The Players Tribune, he essentially reminds players that they are the only ones who have to look out for their own interests. It sounds like every BCTF union meeting I’ve ever been to, but this is more effective because it comes from a current player, versus teacher’s union presidents who have been out of a classroom for an average of 10 years and are beating a 20-year-old drum.

“As dedicated as we players are to this game, it’s getting more and more difficult to ignore the fact that we don’t have a league that shows the same kind of dedication when it comes to taking care of the players who are laying their bodies on the line every Sunday,”
