SB Trophy Logo…A Retrospective

So the trophy logo got a bit of a re-tread this year.  It has some red in it now, and they got rid of that godawful 1970’s “Logan’s Run” lettering.  But of course the Roman Numerals remain because we haven’t figured out a better way to represent numbers IN THE LAST TWO MILLENNIA!!!!!!111!!!!!

But I digress….

So yeah, Roman numerals, right?.  When I was a kid I learned Roman numerals just because of the Superb Owl.  I’m totally serious.  I mean, what other reason was there?

And then, last year…….

WTF NFL?????  Couldn’t figure out how to get the single Roman Numeral “L” to fit seamlessly with the trophy logo?  So you just conveniently skipped the whole Roman Numeral thing for a year last year?  What do you think about that, Cam Newton?

Non Superb Owl Sports

So the NHL All Star Game was three, three, three games in one.  Wow that was a fucked up format (though I seem to be in the minority on this opinion).  How did I not hear about that ahead of time?  Oh yeah, sure….head up own ass.  I forgot.

I’m not going to explain the format because if you didn’t watch then you needn’t have your gray matter poisoned.  Suffice to say that the Metropolitan facking RULES!!!!  Suck it, Pacific!!!!!!

In all seriousness, the NHL is back at it this week.  In fact as I’m typing this (Wednesday night), the Caps are locked in a battle with the Bruins, having just gone up 3-2…with the 3rd period still looming.  Really good game.

Ahhhhhh….A Relaxing tWBS Original

This one is about a year and a half old (September ’15).  Obviously, this is a night shoot from back when I was still trying to learn how to do that.  Long exposure, yada, yada, yada.  I got bored pretty quickly with sitting outside for hours and getting eaten up by mosquitoes, though I did learn a lot.  And I intend to prove it when I can get to an actually dark locale.  Maybe this summer….we’ll see.

But there was always something about this one I liked.  The stars, the dimly lit boat launch, the mist on the water illuminated by a neighbour’s security light.  I dunno.  I just like this one.
