I’m out helping my friend with deliveries at his Greek restaurant. It’s 5 hours and usually about $100 cash & a free meal. I ain’t allergic to cash-money, and there’s always stories:
- on Wednesday, I delivered to a they-said-legal-but-it’s-not-yet marijuana dispensary & grow-op. Based on them pleading with me that it was legal, they knew that I knew they were jumping the gun on Trudeau’s impending legalization.
- I told them I’d been to enough concerts in the 80s, so as long as they paid me in cash and not bud there wasn’t a problem.
a couple of weeks back, I made a 10:30 delivery to a local motel.
- Based on her tattoos, she was a one-night hire. I’d give her a 6; given his appearance, she probably figured dinner was extra money.
- At least she put on a t-shirt to come to the door. It took him longer to find his clothes.
- Fortunately, I got a cash tip.

I agree, gerrymandering (or as I call it, Larrymandering) is the root problem, but how to solve it? Any redrawing of districts will inherently favor democrats. Is there any truly objective way to draw distrcits? I don’t think so.
I don’t have the link, but I remember a Daily Show segment where they interviewed a guy that created a district drawn in a circle around the black community so they got one rep instead of 2 and he was proud of it. Just stop shit like that to start.

The likes are tough. It’s an ajax scripting issue – we could use the old system but the comments eat them after they refresh. I’m working on that this weekend. The reversed comments is…vexing. I’ll figure it out, though. I like the speed and non-reloading of this system, so it’s staying. Just need to work out the bugs.

When I called the number listed on that Backpage ad that offered “All night + Greek for $200” I was expecting something a little different.
Never worked in delivery, but working in Admissions meant I got to dress up as the school mascot the first open house I worked and I got to drive the golf cart around to pick up mailing materials. I didn’t have my license yet so driving the golf cart was the closest I could get to being cool and edgy.

I worked at a Quizno’s and we had to do deliveries. No real stories there but at the actual store our manager was a giant pill head that got everyone to snort whatever he had that day with him, the freezer was mostly used to smoke pot and eventually the boss stole a bunch of money, framed someone, the owner completely believed him. Owner still sided with the boss when he ended up in rehab with his pill popping buddies a few months later
We used to smoke weed in the freezer when I delivered pizzas as a youngster.

Odd Quizno’s story. When I lived in Missouri, I was withing walking distances of one. A friend of mine would go there often and remarked (after I had left town) that some of the lights on the sign were out. Turns out, that was deliberate. All of the receipts read something like “Zion subs” and the owner, stick of working with the corporate office, just decided to rebrand but keep selling Quizno’s recipes thinking it was totally legal.
It wasn’t and that place closed not long after that.
After watching the first episode of Legion I have come to the following conclusions
1) Its was a damn good first episode

4) I probably should have toked up before watching it
