What in the Wide Wide World of Sports is a going’ on here?

117th US Open Championship

The US Open train should be pulling into the station in just a little while.  If you wanna see it come in (giggity), tune in to FOX.  At the time of this writing, there are still nearly a dozen guys with a chance to win this thing, five of whom are within one stroke of the lead and have yet to tee off for the day.  It could be a very interesting finish.  Just saying.

Still doing their thing, as always.  Plus they’re all wearing some really ugly baby blue (don’t say Carolina Blue….don’t say Carolina Blue) uniforms this weekend in honor of Father’s Day and also prostate cancer….apparently.  I’ll be pleased to see those go away after today.

Of course, the games are still predictably bad.  Although fortunately I will not have to drive to Baltimore later and finally torture hug Ubaldo Jimenez (yet)…..

Dude actually pitched 7.0 innings complete, yielding only 2 runs on 4 hits.  Holy shit, bizarro world has arrived.

At least when the bullpen blows it, such as they are trying hard to do right now as I’m typing this, it won’t be that hapless Dominican’s fault this time.

[UPDATE]: O’s hang on for the 8-5 win to take the series over the Redbirds.  (Sorry King Hippo)

Yesterday in Omaha (no Peyton, I told you already), Oregon State and LSU advanced into the winner’s bracket on their side of the bracket, sending Fullerton and Florida State respectively into the loser’s bracket.

Earlier this afternoon, Louisville took down Texas A&M.  The Cards now await the winner of tonight’s contest, while aTm awaits the loser.
