This week…
We have our 2020 Premiers!
Welcome to Balls of Steel’s AFL Beat!
As I said when I woke up on Saturday morning and checked the score: Well shit! Here is your recap:
Richmond Tigers 81 v Geelong Cats 50 at The Gabba
It was still close at the start of the fourth, but then the Tigers completed their 22 point comeback

That’s all for this week. Congratulations again to the Richmond Tigers, your 2020 AFL Premiers!
See you next season!
Congratulations again to Dolph Ucker for winning this year’s Gently Used Fleshlight™!! Seriously, Dolph, if you send me your address via DM, I will send you a nice bottle of liquor. Let us all know what kind of liquor you want in the comments! If you don’t drink, I can send you a case of Corona Hard Seltzer or make a donation on your behalf to the charity of your choice.
Also, kudos to for holding off Yeah Right and BC Dick for 6th place! Congratulations also to Game Time Decision for taking 10th place away from WhyEaglesWhy at the very end!
Great job to everyone this season and thank you for participating! We’ll do it again next year.

Without further ado, it’s
Balls’ Sechs
1- I didn’t know if I was staying up late on Friday night to watch the game or not. Work had been pretty crazy last week and I knew I was going to be tired. I decided to not stay up and instead be surprised in the morning either pleasantly or sadly.
2- I did have a good feeling going into the game that, if the Cats played as well as they could, they could win the game. I was fighting the optimism, though, because I knew that Richmond was really good and they’ve won 2 out of 3 and that experience counts big-time.
3- In the end, I think that experience was what made the difference. The Cats played well and it was a good game for the most part. However, when it counted, it seems like Richmond went up another gear that Geelong didn’t know existed and that was that.
4- In the end, the teams that lost the regular season game went 6-3 during finals.
5- The Cats will rue the missed opportunity this year, specially since Gary Ablett just played his last game. However, this could also propel them to even greater heights next year. As what happened with Brisbane, this could be a valuable learning experience.
6- As for the Tigers to win their third title in four years, they must now be considered on par with the great Hawthorn teams from the past decade. They have a great system, a great coach, and great depth that has kept them winning games despite multiple injuries in several of their championship years. They are a worthy champion.

If only that game hadn’t been close, I could have gone to bed hours earlier.
I don’t think any of us need to see the margins. We only want to see everyone’s tips. And, for the buildup, please put the smallest tip first, leading up to the largest.
If the winner gets a Gently Used Fleshlight™ what does last place get in lieu of the wooden spoon?
A trip to Jimmy Haslam’s favourite spa, Orchids of Cleveland.
You mean Opiums of Cleveland?
Haslam would probably just go for the owner discount at the nearest Flying J truckstop. It’s not like he has Kraft’s legal team.
