Seriously, am I really gonna have to watch the Zombie USFL?  This is what happens when you are a lazy piece of shit and don’t believe in human activity.

So the yeast could be sold, shipped, etc. (as yet) with no problem, I would think…

Since most of my communication with the daughters is via text it’s either really good news or really bad news when they actually call.

It wasn’t good.

Former mrs. Right is in surgery and it’s really not great with her being in stage 4 already.

Youngest right said she had this weird thought about suddenly being in charge of all of these major life decisions and she couldn’t wrap her mind around it.

I told her that I felt the same after losing my parents and said it’s basically the death of childhood.

There’s nobody to call for advice or for solace and basically you’re the family wisdom now.

Then I said not to write my ass off anytime soon cuz I ain’t going nowhere but up, baby!

She was laughing and in a good mindset when we finished the call.

Fuck. This is going to suck so fucking hard for my girls and granddaughters.

Finally figured out why the scratch made everything Italian dinner kicks my ass.
It’s the fresh pasta. The silent assassin.

The sauce has some labor no doubt but the bread thing is easy if you have the right kitchen toys.

The pasta is no joke. Hands on labor with the 10 minute knead and then running it through the pasta machine to make sheets then running it through again to cut, then you have to arrange it on the drying rack and then sweep the flour to clean up the broken pasta bits.

I was sitting on the couch watching basketball then I realized I didn’t make anything for dinner.

We made the meatballs and sauce today so it’s ready to go. Cheating by using high quality package local pasta which is pretty fresh. The rolled veal and pork roast is slow cooked in the morning served as the second course with roast potatoes rosemary and new peas. Desert is the traditional Colomba cake, coffee and chocolate eggs. Will be plenty LARGE tomorrow.

In Chicago for the weekend and actually got painting done this time! First coat of ‘eucalyptus’ is done in the living room. It’s a pretty bright color so will need a second coat, but that and the touchups around the corners will be for tomorrow morning before the brunch drinking starts.

Thinking I will emulate Hippo and stay in tonight. I got a box of wine, blueberries, and some truffle cheese to consume while reading my book alone in my surprisingly comfy sofabed.
