Can you believe it’s week 9 already? We’ve another early game this Sunday in Germany as well and it looks like the best we’ve seen overseas. As a matter of fact, what with all these backups and backups to backup qb’s playing, the tilt between the Fins and Chiefs will have to do some heavy lifting. The other two I’d mention are Dallas/Philly and Buffalo/Cincy. There’s only one other game featuring squads that are both over .500 and that’s Baltimore and Seattle.

Tidbits:

-Mark Davis’ backpack was quoted as saying that the firings were made because the ‘team was going in the wrong direction’. This from the guy that drove around and around Piccadilly Circus for over two hours tittering like a four year-old.

-Dead Man Talking: Riverboat Ron said that the trading of Sweat and Young gives opportunities for other players. I’m sure the front office said to him, “Hey, we gutted the team, make it win more now”.

-Clayton Tune gets his first start but for the Cards the song remains the same-bury the team in the standings. Is it going to come down to just how much salary Bidwill is willing to swallow?

-Another name, though more familiar is starting for the first time as well. Brett Rypien of the Rams will be under center with Dresser Winn in support. Was Winn bagging groceries a la Warner when he got the call? Nope, he was bagging hoes up in Edmonton! (he was on the Elks practice squad for a time) Stetson Bennett-a Red Flag Factory-(h/t Maria Bamford) is nowhere to be found and the team doesn’t want him back. Curious.

-Somebody gonna be .500 after this tilt and the odds are against Vrabel.

-Canada Hung Out To Dry Part 1: Big Ben has a podcast? Didn’t know that but he’s advocated for Byron Leftwich to slide into the OC spot once Matt is sent to the mat.

-Canada Hung Out To Dry Part 2: He’ll be calling plays from the sideline as a salve to angry fans who are smuggling bottles of Yuengling into Condiment Stadium as I type.

-Hopkins is out of Toe Ouchie Protocol-it’s very straightforward, all you have to do is account for where all the piggies are.

-Proper Prop Action: Tyjae’s rush yardage sits at 19.5, a figure that he’s blown out of the water in 5 of 7 games so far.

-I realize that Grier went haywire in his debut last week but these teams are 3-11 vs the over so far this year and the Steelers are 55 games into a streak of not reaching 400 yards of offense.

-On that note, look for Najee to have yet another disappointing fantasy outing vs an interior Titans d-line of Simmons, Tart and Autry. They are bad, bad men.
