So my dicking around writing time is being interrupted by actually having to do my job. The nerve! Well, it could be worse I guess. And next week is spring break so I’ll have some writing time. Now, granted, I’m still gigging (nobody’s getting married during Passover but there are still some shows) so it’s not like a full day, but hey, it’s something and I’m still getting paid.
In news news (not that kind of news, where we’re still looking for an adverb before the word “fucked” to describe the situation):
-As I mentioned, the true Greatest Game(s) happened yesterday. Lehman! Yeshiva! College baseball doubleheader! Streaks on the line (of the losing variety)!
Why is this night different from other nights? Not because it’s Passover (that starts Saturday evening), but because the Maccabees won their most recent game! (As my undergrad plays in the same conference, fuck ’em obligatorily, but, you know what, it’s fine for baseball, Purchase won the doubleheader 22-1 and 13-0). Yeshiva plays a doubleheader at SUNY Maritime on the 25th, while Lehman will look to recover against Baruch on Saturday.
–BASKETBALL PLAYER ALERT! Panthers sign Colin Granger, who played for Coastal Carolina this year. In college basketball. He hasn’t played football since the 8th grade. Since he’s 5+ years out of high school this is a free agency signing.
What’s on?
Why are we watching non-playoff hockey? [Post production note, it’s Sam and JD, so it’s worth it. Sorry for this season, Sam.] (PHI vs. FIRE LAVI, 7:30, TNT)
As opposed to this one! This one’s worth watching, (STL vs. EDM, 10:00, TNT)
Almost time for meaningful basketball!
“Wow, they fired Malone” vs. “Oh yeah, they fired their coach a bit back” (DEN vs. SAC, 10:00, ESPN)
Why are we watching CONCACAF with MLS teams? (Fightin’ Messis vs. LAFC, 8:00, FS1)
See? A little better. (Pumas vs. Vancouver Whitecaps FC, 10:30, FS1)
