Saturday Night Off-season Open Thread 2025-12

I liked last week’s list, so I’m going continue the bit. Here is a list of things I like that start with the letter F:

Religion Update

We are now in the middle of the Easter Triduum, the Catholic Church’s Three Day commemoration of the death and resurrection of Jesus. Tonight’s event is the Holy Saturday service. This is the longest service of the Catholic year and has been known to click in, in my experience, at a hefty 3 hours.

On the bright side, if you attend tonight’s service, you get “time served” and you don’t need to attend tomorrow’s Easter Sunday service. It’s in the Book of Catholic Exceptions and Loopholes.

Current Events

The Draft is this week. Aaron Rodgers is still not a Steeler, which is a good thing in my book. That means, to me, that the Steelers will pick a QB in the draft, make Mason the starter, and maybe pick up a cheap vet for the backup role. Next year might be franchise QB time in the draft.

Other Updates

I am playing a shitload of golf lately. Last week, I got my personal best at one course and lowered my handicap to 25.9. Today, I played the same course with my boss from work. Tomorrow, I’m playing a different course with a golf club friend.

I am also taking Tuesday off to play with my Match Play Tournament partner. We are doing a practice match with some friends for a Round One Matchup to be scheduled soon.
