Monday Morning Mock Draft: Trickeration!

Guten Tag, Drones.

 

It’s 12:38 am as I write this, because I forgot all about this until now.  And I wouldn’t be awake right now if the Edmonton Oilers hadn’t just scored the tying goal with about 20 seconds left in the third period, thereby requiring me to stay awake just a bit longer.

As someone said on X, The Everything App some time ago, (that someone is Not Me), “why watch overtime play-off hockey when you could simply snort cocaine and ride a motorcycle out of a helicopter instead?”

But I’m up so we’re gonna half-ass a mock draft right now, because that’s the kind of dedicated employee I am.

This week we go with another suggestion from Scotchnaut, because I wrote it down and because he gave me his first pick, thereby allowing me to do even less work than usual.

We’re drafting trick plays.  Scotchnaut said that his first pick was Reggie Roby’s trick punt.

I don’t have a pick right now, because the OT is starting.  Let’s reconvene tomorrow and do this right.  Meanwhile, and as always, the rest of you are on the clock.

Do they have to be real trick plays? I’ll take the Flying V from the Mighty Ducks (even though it’s a terrible idea because a turnover and you’re giving up a breakaway, AND the puck carrier has to be the front person of the V entering the zone so if you jam them up it’s an offsides).
