It is, at this point, a running joke that I am notoriously unlucky with my cars’ tires. Yes, cars as in plural. Like that time I was driving Senorita Weaselo home from us playing an opera, hit a pothole on the Van Wyck, the tire came off the wheel a little, and we got towed to a tire repair shop in Corona at 11:00 at night.
Also, we were still in the car the tow truck driver gave us a lift. Which I shortly learned is actually illegal!
Or that time I had a bubble, so I got a new tire. And then something happened to that tire like two weeks later, like it wasn’t inflated right, or something, where after one drive from Brooklyn to Long Island it was basically melting off my car. The (different) tire shop could not figure out why the inside of the tire was shredding away.
Anyway it hasn’t been that outstanding or spectacular with Red (possible permanent name still pending—I can’t use the name Carmen for a BARCELONA Red car, because everyone knows that play/opera takes place in Sevilla! And Ruby Rose is out, I haven’t watched a minute of RWBY) as it was with Argent, and thank goodness. Instead in under two years I’ve had three punctured tires, with one of them covered, one of them found out as I was getting an oil change so my next door neighbor/mechanic got me the best deal he could, and now this one. Which the warranty covered, but the first Toyota dealership isn’t accepting third-party warranties because they’ve recently gotten burned for an engine replacement so the clamps are on until the company pays them. So I had to go to a second dealership to get the warranty to be honored.
So that’s how my morning’s gone. At least it’s my oldest tire, so the alignment that was out of pocket was basically just me getting a free alignment with a tire, or vice-versa.
News? I mean, there’s actual methadone football tomorrow, does that count?
What’s on? Well, you could watch Sexi Mexi footy kick the shit out of MLS squads (Pumas vs. SKOL SC which is Orlando and not Minnesota; then Portland vs. San Luis, both on FS1 at 8 and 10:30), or shout-out to the WNBA (Finals rematch: Liberty vs. Lynx, ESPN, 8:00), or rev up the streamings.
Meanwhile, my boots’ll be on the ground for the Battle of Steinbrenner Field! Did you know thanks to the Trop’s roof getting shorn off the Tampa Bay Rays are playing at the Yankees’ spring training field? What? You didn’t heard about it 800 times in March? Well, yeah, that. Except this game is in the Bronx.
Anyway, enjoy. I’m going to my contractually allowed summer vacation baseball game that I’m attending and not playing at (that’s in two weeks again).
