Notes and Comments
My Cats were ahead by a major with less than two minutes to play. However, Hawthorn dominated the next two center clearances and got one goal and a behind. They didn’t let the Cats reach midfield and that was that. A terrific game at the MCG with an amazing atmosphere.
West Coast got a BEATDOWN from Sydney. I’m not sure the scoreline does it justice even though 163 to 35 looks BAD. Maybe they are in the same boat as North Melbourne in that they will be teases all year?
Speaking of North, they made up for last week by rebounding with a win against Carlton. Is another embarrassing defeat in the cards for next week against Brisbane? It’s pretty likely…
The biggest surprise of the week was Melbourne beating Gold Coast. That would have qualified for Horatio’s draft on Monday, but it wasn’t a final or anything like that. Still, it was certainly unexpected.
Finally, the schedule for next week is full as the byes are over. For now. There are some good games on the schedule with the Game of the Week being Sydney v Gold Coast.
Yeah Right is on a ROLL. He AGAIN led the way in the AFL Tipping Competition as he AGAIN got the most picks correct and is now all alone in first place. Spam and Sharkbait are back one spot while I’m still all the way back in last place. Don’t forget to put the tips in!
If you are a member of an AFL club or you got a Watch AFL membership, you should be able to watch every AFL and AFLW game, including replays. Game times vary between Australian afternoon and evening, which actually makes it easier for us in North America to watch as the games can be seeing in the evenings on Pacific Time and early mornings on Eastern time.
If you haven’t become a member of a club or signed up for the Watch AFL app, you can still watch the AFL and AFLW games in the USA on either FS1 or FS2 and in Canada on TSN. Showtimes can be found here on the Australian Football Association of North America website. But I do recommend that you join a club. It’s fun and they send you free shit.
See you next week!
