I’m watching Anatomy Of A Murder. Jimmy Stewart is a proto-Stanislavskian beast wandering around a bunch of cardboard cut-out actors. The references to Thunder Bay, Sault Ste. Marie and Blind River are the icing on the Tim Horton’s doughnut.

Tonight in the NBA the best battle of sub .500 teams features the Minnesota Karl-Anthony Towns against the New York Kristaps Porzingis’sisisss. Other teams featured this evening are Cha, Mia, Chi, Okl, SA, GS and LAC. In the college ball game certain bastards from UNC are playing along with relatively respectable programs like Lou, Bay, (undefeated?) SMU, and Ari. Ice-wise there are only two games but they are barn-burners-Ott/Was and Pit/Bos promise to deliver plenty of, umm, ACTION!

Ted flew a Corsair, my favorite plane.

I thought he flew a ground-attack plane, too, but I can’t find any info to confirm this, so I was probably mistaken about that.

Weird, the comment I posted didn’t post.

I had read something somewhere that indicated Williams flew a P-39 Airacobra, a ground-attack plane famous for having a 37mm cannon in the propeller. As Ted was also rumored to have a big schlong, I always thought it was rather poetic that a guy known for his bat on- and off the field also flew the plane that shot the biggest bullets of its era.

From looking at Ted’s official web site, it turns out he didn’t fly the P-39, and he didn’t shoot any Japanese Nazis, either–he was in training until V-J day.

He did shoot the hell out of the North Koreans, though, when he flew a goddamn jet.
