The Westminster Dog Show from MSG was last night. I should have included it in the previews, because I know three hours of dog porn appeals to many of the commentists.
I’ve got broadcaster issues I’ll rant about tomorrow, but for right now I’d like to regale you with photos of the winners.

She won the Working Group, stealing the title from my personal favourite, Tag the Bernese Mountain Dog.

A Norwegian Elkhound, she won the hound group.
There were other acceptable Terrier & Sporting winners,
and the insufferable Non-sporting & Toy winners.
But the big winner was Rumor the German Shepherd, who won the Herding Group along the way to taking “Best In Show”.
That’s a beautiful girl.
Plus, since I’ve been married almost 18 years, a night in with leftovers, cake & a dog show made for a very pleasant Valentine’s Day with the missus. Something fancier would get her to thinking I’ve done something, and I’m too settled to move.
Afterwards, we then watched “Best In Show”.

Two weeks ago, I was scrolling through the channels with a buddy of mine and some College female hoops game was on (both teams were top-25 ranked). The game was on for about an hour, so I guessed it was about 2/ through the second quarter, and the score would be 16-11. The actual score was 15-11, with 7 minutes left in the second.

German Shepherds (or GSDs, as we owners of such dogs call them with our noses ever-so-slightly turned upwards) are truly fantastic dogs, as long as you can get past the first two years. They are cute puppies but massive pains in the ass until a little older. They’re the Nina Hartley of the canine world as they will put damned near anything in their mouth. How the species survived without choking to death is beyond me.
Didn’t get mine until she was grown; I have collies in the past; both are very loyal and affectionate, great house guard dogs, the GS needs a much closer watch because they will defend pretty easily against a perceived threat (I’m lucky I didn’t get sued). They are smarter than hell and easily trained. Like with any dog they are assholes with the wrong owner. Mine has some husky so the fur shedding can be interesting to say the least. She is a goddamned great dog.

Nobody wants to watch St. John’s at Butler, I root for St. John’s (four miles down the road, Madre Weaselo graduated, Padre Weaselo went there for a year… technically) and I don’t want to watch St. John’s at Butler!
Our Newfoundland is the only dog of our 3 that watches TV. He was absolutely riveted by the hot bitches the last two nights. He’s also 120 pounds, so if he wants to watch the doggy show, by gum he’s watching the doggy show.
And, goes without saying, all these dogs are good dogs and better than most people.
My dog barks at the @midnight bells and if it is loud other doorbells on TV. I do not discourage this (encourages it). She doesn’t watch the screen. She is a 110 lb. GS mix so you know how loud the barking is. A little more expensive than an electronic alarm, but scarier and friendlier when you get home after another FUCKING DAY AT THIS FUCKING JOB. Thanks pooch.

I just did my taxes. I fucking hate doing taxes as they confuse the fuck out of me and I am gripped with the dual fear of paying too much and not paying enough.
I over contributed to my IRA again this year. With my work schedule, I ended up just deciding to eat the penalties because the idea of fixing it and filing late…I have no fucking idea how I would have the time to accomplish that.
As a single person, with zero dependents, no farm, home, etc, its utterly amazing to me just how few write offs I get. Plus my employer does not pull state taxes…so whatever I get back from the Fed, I lose twice as much as a tax bill to my state. On a positive, that just means I am not giving a loan to a state that can’t do snow removal at all.
I’m not bitching about paying taxes…its just the whole fucking nightmarish confusing part of it. I’m not one of those flat tax dickheads that think it would be fair to slam poor people. Our “progressive” tax code already slams poor people.
I just don’t get how I can tune and commission medium voltage cranes and have no worries, but filing taxes makes me want to puke in utter terror.
Oh and HR department earlier this year sent all our W-2’s to a hacker…so like half the office has already had their shit filed early for them by scammers.
