NFL News:
- Leonard Fournette has apparently learned the error of his ways, and will respect the team’s rules & curfews.
- He missed a workout & the team photo, and Tom Coughlin hates it when you skip picture day.

- Thus allowing Teddy Bridgewater to officially be re-activated once he clears the physical.
- Teddy is expected back on the sidelines next week. Kyle Sloter will backup Case Keenum this weekend.

The Giants have issued directives to team scouts to focus on QBs in advance of the 2018 draft.
- The Giants are currently positioned third in the draft, and with the Niners coming down with Garappolio, it’s just them & the Browns looking at QBs at the top of the draft.
- Whether Ben McAdoo is around to mold that QB remains to be seen.
- Depending on whom you believe, Colin Kaepernick was supposed to meet with Roger Goodell this week.
- The cancelled meeting apparently got held up over complications with the grievance process, and the fact that Kaep wanted a mediator there to ensure the whole deal wasn’t just a PR stunt.
Finally, to borrow Deadspin‘s line – “I love stories about the NFL eating itself, and I hope you love them too. Let’s feast.”
- November 7th: Jerry Jones was officially removed from his unofficial role on the owners Compensation Committee.
- November 8th: Jerry Jones hires David Boies in an attempt to block Roger Goodell’s contract extension.
- Boies is linked to Harvey Weinstein, having helped him set up the surveillance network he used to monitor accusers, especially Rose McGowan.
According to PFT:
The development comes at a team when resentment of Jones has grown among owners. Many resent his use of the phrases “ranking owner” and “senior ranking owner” at last month’s league meeting, and he has created frustration and acrimony via repeated efforts to hijack discussions among owners. If he actually sues his business partners over Goodell’s contract, Jones could take on full-blown Al Davis pariah-style status.
So, it looks like it’ll be a fun Christmas card season at the owners’ meetings.
I’m going to be away for a couple of weeks, carefree & cavorting, so you won’t have Wineguywill to kick around until the 27th. I’ve met my replacement, and he seems like a fine addition to the staff.

But before I go, I want to remind you of two important dates that I’d highlight if I were here:
- November 10: anniversary of the “Edmund Fitzgerald”, and an excuse to post the song
- November 11: Remembrance Day / Veterans Day
- It’s a pretty solemn date in Canada, and one that I’m glad modern Canadians still hold close despite the distance from the actual events.
- Each year, I try to drill into my students the importance of the date, and urge them to do some reading and attend a ceremony.

There may or may not be a “Hope Clicks” tomorrow. I’m not seeing a team that catches my fancy to analyze, but it seems like a pretty full day regardless. DON’T YOU JUDGE ME!
