NFL Nuggets:

• Well this is interesting:
  • A congressman that represents New Orleans Second District, Cedric Richmond, wants Roger Goodell to appear before the House’s Judiciary Antitrust Subcommittee.
    • The fun part, as Florio points out, is that this subcommittee could have the power to influence the nature of gambling affiliations the league may enter into.
      • And even write rules regulating such enterprises.

• ESPN‘s headline says it all:
  • The NFL says that the number of concussions in games and practices dropped 23.8 percent in 2018.
    • The league attributes the results due to enforcement of the new helmet-to-helmet rules & changes to kickoffs.

• Ryan Shazier is apparently jogging.    
  • He’s still a long way from ossibly returning, but the fact that he’s got most of the use back in his legs is a hopeful sign for his future golden years.
    • Art Rooney II earlier indicated the Steelers would sign him to a contract so he could continue to rehabilitate with them.

Finally, in the category of “didn’t ask for it”, an English woman with the twitter handle @dee_brown has been reaping abuse from Kansas City fans since last Sunday.

• Dee Brown the “offside” Chief doesn’t have social media.
• But he has met her, and even invited her to the game when the Chiefs played at Wembley a few years back.

I was forced into Provincial Exam duty today, because I am one of the few teachers students believe will actually take their paper away if they cheat or time’s up.

Try if you can to imagine a gym filled with teenagers all giving off fear-omones, only half of them able to finish a two-hour test in three hours. When you try to take their test away, most teachers are like

and the kids are all.

But I have no conscience or soul, so my usual reaction is,

It’s a little extra money in exchange for losing two hours of sleep. If only I could think of something to do after work to compensate…
