It was a fairly long week at school. Cold & flu season has begun in earnest, combined with the calendar making Canadian Thanksgiving a week later than normal. The result was certain of my co-workers taking their sick days earlier than normal, and the site being shortstaffed to the point that I had to teach during the game Thursday night. It was stay & help or they cancel the course on the kids, who don’t deserve that type of treatment. I get paid extra, so I’m not exactly a saint about the whole thing, but I’m glad I’m no longer in admin & have to pretend that it’s normal operating procedure.
And my co-workers wonder why unions have such a negative perception in the media & public.

The Ultra Violet Cafe describes itself on its website as a topless gentlemen’s club that boasts a fully stocked bar.
It really does make the story. The best part is that no one who’s been in it would describe it that way. It is literally the worst strip bar in CT, if not New England. A friend of mine put it best, arriving at a poker game and saying “Hey, if any of you want to know what a nearly healed bullet wound looks like, you should go to the UV right now.”
