That durn rook qb Herbert is 4th in the league in QB rating while passing on third downs. It wasn’t supposed to be this easy but the slipper keeps on fitting. The Raiders don’t defend outside the numbers very well so wr Williams might see some action and your sneaky play is Jalen Guyton who ran 40+ routes last week. He’s leading the league in yards per reception at a gaudy 29. As you might expect, his YAC is enormous. (that sounds, umm, odd)
Steelers/Cowboys:
I heard a satellite radio fantasy talker guy say, “the Steelers sometimes don’t show up for big games”. HOW IS THIS A ‘BIG GAME’? Anyhoo, since Prescott went down Zeke has been RB36, just behind the likes of Philip “just the one ‘l’, please” Lindsay and J.D. McKissic. I guess he’s finally full-full of ballast, amirite? He’s listed as questionable and if you’re able to trade him away you should because there are only 2 easy games-Minny and Cincy-left on the sked. As for someone trending upward, look no further than Conner. He’s RB12 right now and he has the Bengals and Jags after this cakewalk.
Fins/Cards:
Miami’s D has slowly ticked upward and that has a lot to do with cb’s Jones and Howard being healthy at the same time. Still, it looks like the Cards get premo blocking te Maxx Williams back and Chase Edmonds has the rock. He does very well when he gets more than 14 carries in a game. The Cards love to run from a two te set and the Fins rank 30th when trying to defend the run from that formation. I don’t expect Miami to score many points on O because their rb position is a mess and because Tua didn’t exactly Herbert himself out there last week.

Outdoors is making weird noises
Goddamn, I just read AOC’s interview in the NYT and she’s so fucking smart and it kills me that the DNC is just out to ratfuck her. (Also that she used to be “just” a bartender? Wtf? How the fuck did this brilliant lady not get hired by someone willing to pay her a whole lot more? Maybe I’m missing something about her professional career.)
Nope, she is firmly within the “circle of trust” of the Demmycratic Party. People like her.
How is the DNC “out to ratfuck her?” I mean, I think the DNC doesn’t love the notion of her being one of the major faces of the party when they’re trying to win tough districts. But I don’t see that as ratfucking.
Maybe ratfuck isn’t the right word, but that interview does not portray the DNC and DCCC as being particularly welcoming to her, her politics, and others who share them.

Yeah, but the Dems need to rethink their seniority system. The GOP got rid of theirs, and it’s helped them politically.
There’s already reports about various young(ish) House Dems lobbying for administration jobs because the House leadership positions are locked up by the 70-plus crowd.
Reminds me a lot of the Canadian Liberal Party honestly. Turned into a an elite hobnobbers’ club of people who like success and power, many of whom have had it handed to them by virtue of birth or circumstance, and the party’s steadily declined into an incompetent, out-of-touch organization more consumed with maintaining their own positions within the party than the party’s position with the populace.
Temporarily, briefly being staved off, ironically, by their select Justin Trudeau as leader, but the rot’s deep and will re-emerge not so long from now.
It’ll be interesting to see how she manages her political career. Curious if she might run for a NY Senate seat
Someone pointed out earlier that Jim Clyburn is the youngest member of the house leadership committee at 80. Even I’m surprised at that.
I legitimately wonder how much of the political fuckery going on around the world is partially due to better health care resulting in old boomers (and up) clinging to their positions of power longer than ever.

The Dems need to do a total leadership housecleaning if they want to get any sort of broader appeal. Nana and Gramps trying to sell lukewarm progressive legislation while sucking on Werther’s Originals is not going to get it done.
Yeah. I mean, I know how it works. Same as any organization: doesn’t matter how smart or right you are or how dumb and wrong everybody else is, if you come in swinging haymakers, ain’t nobody gonna wanna dance with you.
Still, she’s not wrong that the Democrats’ leadership is decrepit and corrupted (not in the criminal sense, but in the entirely lost in their own bullshit sense). It’s in desperate need for a top-to-bottom cleansing, and she’s got great ideas about how to do it, and it’s not going to work out because the universe sucks.

AOC gives as good as she gets, though. She’s already been in some post-election twitter fights snarking on how Dem candidates in other districts don’t know how to campaign. I like AOC. I agree that she’s smart, she’s been subjected to an incredible amount of hate and misogyny and racism from the GOP, and she’s exactly the kind of person who should be representing a liberal district in Brooklyn. But she knows fuck all about how to win a seat in an R+2 district. Her only electoral accomplishment was beating an incumbent Dem in the primary — and while that was impressive considering that he was pretty senior in the party, it’s an entirely different kind of fight.
She disputes that in the interview itself. If you disagree, I’d love to hear why.

Her point about Facebook advertising might be legitimate, but Lamb — who has now won three elections in four years in a tough district — says she’s wrong about that. I’m going to assume that Lamb knows more about his campaign’s spending than an outsider. When she gets basic facts wrong, I tend not to trust her analysis.
And I know from prior articles that the claims she makes about Medicare for All supporters and her win-loss record is highly cherrypicked.

You know who else knows fuck all about how to win a seat in an R+2 district? Dem leadership. It’s an extension of the problem that was discussed yesterday about what to do with non-urban areas. Dems got the big win, but GOP crushed it down ballot. They flipped 2 more state houses along the way. The extremely funny fox screenshots of the polling that shows massive support for progressive policies that the DNC just flat refuses to adopt in their official platform makes me feel like running on those gives us at least the same chance to win as we do now. If you’re a conservative and the choices are between two people with almost identical platforms, they’ll probably vote for the one who doesn’t think they’re a racist, especially if they are.
Well, the Dems did win a majority again. A smaller majority, but they’re hardly the NY Jets here.

Well, she’s got degrees in economics and international relations, which in my own experience is pretty much a guarantee that you’re going to spend some time tending bar while interning for little to no pay.
