NFL Noise:
- The 2022 salary cap has already had its top-end set – $208.2 million.
- Any excess revenue above that number will be used to pay back the roughly $17 million in 2020 player benefits that were canceled as a result of the pandemic, rather than bump the cap further.
- The current cap is a COVID-affected $182.5 million per team.
- The Eagles have set a new standard by promoting Catherine Raiche to VP of football operations.
- She was the Eagles football operations/player personnel coordinator from 2019-2020.
- Before that, she worked in the CFL for the Argos & Alouettes.
- This is now the benchmark for hiring women in the NFL, surpassing the Broncos making Kelly Kleine their executive director of football operations.
- She was the Eagles football operations/player personnel coordinator from 2019-2020.
- The Falcons claim they have an offer of a first-round raft pick for Julio Jones.
- Of course, no proof is being offered, so as to help generate a bidding war.
- Jones, whose base salary of $15.3 million is fully guaranteed for this season, is scheduled to cost the Falcons $23.05 million against the cap in 2021 and has cap hits of $19.263 million in 2022 and 2023.
- If they trade him after June 1, they can spread out the dead-cap money over two seasons.
- If they had traded him before the draft, they could have gotten a second-round pick in 2022 without paying any of Jones’ 2021 salary.

I have watched that Pirate “play” over and over, and I still can believe it.
Go Cubs Go!
No Cubs No!
mah word, time to play the jugband version of “Brass Bonanza”
“Before that, she worked in the CFL for the Argos & Alouettes”
The NFL: Now hiring white women from mediocre franchises over qualified men of colour.

A delicious thought that might come true:
Montreal could get inspired by playing infront of their fans on Saturday and send it back to Toronto for another sterile Environment game 7.
Then Montreal wins again, all because Torontonians elected the wrong government.
This made me think of someone:

You saying Weaselo is a NY Redneck?
If the violin fits…
I don’t like this Top Chef challenge. You shouldn’t have to rely on people who aren’t even in the competition.
Any excuse to get rid of the um tall guy.
He was very…tall.
Dude fucked up pasta three times! That shit’s on him.
And, he’s tall.
Yeah, when he said gnocchi I was like Nooooooooo!
Some people never learn.
Also, I thought Byron was going home because he committed the Colicchio sin of “too many ingredients to be that bland”.
He likes it spicy.
Pretty quiet night
So a funny thing happened on the way home from New Jersey: Someone stole my right side tire caps. You know, the ones you put on the inflating part?
Either that or they unscrewed when I brushed a curb but that one seems unlikely.

I’m partial to the “Toronto Make Me Laughs”, but good with this too
It’s not fun yet, but should Les Habitants win on Saturday, with fans, on the 1st night that Montreal opens patios. Look out.
SO MANY THIN CIGARETTES
Maple Queafs was right there.
Well, I have to say, giving up a 2-on-0 in OT is a creative way to lose. The Leafs never fail to entertain!
Nice goal. Leafs lose. The rest of Canada rejoices.
Do the French have a phrase similar to “Hooray, we won” or non?
I believe it’s “Youppi!”
Winnipeg rejoices for more rest!
Leafs or Leaves? It’s important…

Commiefornia is getting a vaxx lottery!
And a Kissinger died! (Henry’s brother, but still)
Noted Leafs Legend Alex Galchenyuk with the tying goal?
I think Muzzin tipped it and will get credit, if he hasn’t already. But yeah.
Another Republican has joined me on the Anti-Trump side of the tent: Paul Ryan.
A third party needs to start up soon. I don’t know if my liver can take this kind of abuse.
At least MTGreene and Matt Gaetz’s attempted takeover of the traditional GOP will put some oil on the water over on that side of the aisle.
Habs power play is a joke.
Comme neuf-un-un?
This is very good BGR.
Language skills are fun!
Sadly, it turned out I didn’t not win the 1st drawing of the Ohio Vax-a-Million, but the Lottery Gods decided to pull a fast one by having the winner from the Cincinnati area, letting me thinking for a few seconds that I may have actually won it.
The Lottery – The Simpsons – YouTube
Still the first time Cincinnati’s won anything in a while.
Yeah, but its a million dollars and you can’t claim it anonymously. Which means everyone who knows the winner will be looking for handouts or investment opportunities, when in reality after taxes all it is is enough money to buy an above average house with cash or enough to create a retirement fund to keep them comfortable in their sunset years.
Some people think “One million dollars? I’m rich!” I’m one of the few who goes “One million dollars? After taxes, that should be around $500,000 to $600,000. I’m financially secure as long as I don’t go crazy!“
This whole lottery seems like a money laundering scheme by the state of Ohio. They give away a million in Federal aid money, then immediately take half of it back!
Yup, that’s how the State of Ohio does things. The state tree may be a Buckeye but it grows on top of a Pyramid Scheme.
I thought Buckeye was the state naval training aircraft (all built at Air Force Plant 85 [now a DSW national warehouse] on the south side of the Columbus airport runway). I did environmental restoration for the USAF there 10-12 years ago.
You will agree that it is an airplane matched in it’s beauty only by the SR-71 Blackbird and F-14 Tomcat.
The guy that won was named Ekim Nworb.
BWHAHAHAHA! Mike Brown wouldn’t let his private helicopter fly over Silverton when he goes to work everyday, let alone live there!
But if you go crazy, you won’t care about financial stability
I did visit Istria on my driving holiday and it’s absolutely gorgeous. The Arena at Pula is in much better shape than the one in Rome and is still used for concerts and plays.
Classic arena owners, taking hard earned denarii from local centurions when they could totally afford to pay for it themselves smghch
I have a complete collection of Trieste Zone B postage stamps. They are pretty cool. Most of Zone B consisted of the Istrian Peninsula, plus some hinterlands.
http://www.italianstamps.co.uk/trieste/triesteb/index.html
Very interesting history in that part of the world. Austria-Hungary had it’s naval academy in Fiume, on the eastern side of the peninsula from Pola. Some interesting fictional tales about both towns in this outstanding but unfortunately short-lived series: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_Biggins#The_Prohaska_series
Indeed. It is a VERY interesting part of the world. I drove in through Slovenia and I stopped by a Russian church in the middle of the Slovenian Alps with some amazing history.
https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Russian_Chapel_on_the_Vr%C5%A1i%C4%8D_Pass
I was never able to get across the border, but did spend a lot of time in Trieste, which is such a weird place: Italian vibe but Austro-Hungarian architecture.
If you have a chance, those Biggins books are definitely worth the effort.
Trieste has changed hands so many times… so many influences.
Not that much changing of hands, actually, although a volatile area. Austria-Hungary 1382 until 1918, under Italian dominion more or less ever since. Bit contested at the end of WWII (Hence Trieste Zone A and Trieste Zone B), with various allied armies (USA, Britain, and New Zealand) involved. Nevertheless, an awesome place to visit. Saw an incredible Ferrari show there once about 20 years ago…
The WWII history of Trieste is fascinating. I read about it somewhere and it stuck in my head. It’s a VERY strategic location.
Col David Hackworth had some interesting stories about being stationed there with Trieste United States Troops (TRUST) just after the war in his autobiography “About Face.” (Also worth a read…)
Need I mention I also have a complete collection of AMG-FTT (Allied Military Government-Free Territory of Trieste [aka Trieste Zone A]) postage stamps as well?
Very cool!
If I can get off my ass, I’ll email you some snaps of the custom album pages I created to house those various and sundry philatelic items. I tried to take some just now but I am too drunk to hold the phone still enough to prevent blurry pics.
Ha ha! Thanks!
I did not get on board in time to comment on Croatia thread.
Look up “Ustashe” and then see how big a fan you are.

Fuckers were worse than the Serbs and definitely liked sucking Hitler and Mussolini’s cocks. Fuck those fascist bastards.
They were mentioned in the comments.
Like I said, I joined the webpage late today (goddam VPN firewall) and just jumped right in here. I was pretty sure that if I took the time to read the comments on that thread I’d have found what I wanted to see.
We’re headed for a repeat down here in Canada’s pants.
When NAZIS are writing their superiors and telling them that they’re witnessing war crimes, you know that shit’s bad…
Me: “Sure, whatever, I’ll hate-watch the Montreal/Toronto game. Both those teams are garbage and always will be.”
/Score is 2-0 Habs
Me: “Ha! That’s Great! Fuck those stupid Leafs so hard!”*
*Apparently I’m a land of many contrasts
I have no objections to this series going longer.
I want Toronto to blow the 3-1 lead again, because that will provide endless hours of entertainment
You are a good internet person.
[Toronto loses the series 4-3]
“We were this close to winning The Cup!”
-Leafs fans
Yeah but a Tronno loss is ever sweeter the later the round.
NO! You can’t give them an inch. Otherwise, weird shit happens & you end up with Vegas in the Finals their inaugural year.
#oversharing but also PSA–Got an EOB from my health insurance for an out of network anesthesia appointment with an amount I “owed.” Unless one of you chloroformed me, that didn’t happen. I noticed it was the day of my first COVID jab so I called and said “hey the only medical treatment I got that day was moderna so either someone screwed up or someone is trying to screw me.” They disappeared for a while to check and said “whoops they coded your vaccine wrong, we’ll make sure they don’t charge you for that since they can’t.”
So this is me saying CHECK YOUR EOB and make sure you aren’t getting screwed.
In Canada, I got a sticker!
My understanding was that they don’t have to pay any bills in
RussiaCanada. It’s all free.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zn5lEuiwtfQ
Julio figures he’s gone but could you imagine a Falcons passing offense with Jones, Ridley and Pitts with Ryan at qb? And that incredibly shitty D that the front office barely addressed? The numbers they could put up…
They would lose every game 49-45 & Matty Ice would have the first 6,000 yard season.
Heard a great argument that because of his salary hit, the only teams that Julio can go to are teams with qb’s on their rookie contract.
As a resident Iggle fan with a rookie qb, we will take him.
But do you think he’d be able to beat out guys like Arcega-Whiteside, Fulgham, Hightower, Reagor and Ward?
He could lose an arm and beat them out.
“Hey, didja know that arm used to play basketball???”
