Impromptu Friday Euro Post

Good morning, I took the whole day off and the Euro posts have been popular so here we go!

Due to TWBS love for futbol I decided to Karen Carpenter this thing!

Sweden v Slovakia has already started and man do the yellows miss the Zlatan. He may be the biggest knobend in the world but dude has skills and is a funny guy. Slovakia was a surprise v Poland and the yellow team held the supposedly new and improved Espana. If the Slovaks smash and grab they are through! Who would have thought that?

Next up is the Czechs v the Croats which is a battle of red, white, and blue flags. The Croats looked absolutely asleep at the wheel against England. Hippo commented that they must have been partying in London the night before. As for the Czechs they housed the Scots in a game where the Scots had more chances but couldn’t finish whatsoever. I would like a draw here or a Croat win to make things even.

Finally the late game is the one I have been looking forward to since the tourney was announced. The Auld enemy at Wembley. Sweet Jesus if the Scots can somehow pull off a draw then there is still hope. The folk from the old country are just happy to be there but ANY positive result against England would be a National holiday. Tierney draws back in for the Scots which should be helpful, however I just do not think that the Saltire has enough speed to keep up with the English. My prediction is that this will end 3 nil England. Fuck.

Two weeks ago I booked a table at my local which will be swarming with English folk where I will be a dot of socially distanced blue and will most likely get abused. That is fine, I can take it, and I’ll be the first to laugh when England loses in a tragic way in the quarterfinals.
