Football Talking People: “Oh god, you must get home field. It’s of the greatest importance, it’s all that matters!”
The Rest of Us: “Right. Shut up.”
Home field meant all of diddly yesterday and we’re grateful for that. Long ago, and in certain situations now, it might have its value but these days the overall effect in a standalone game seems to have diminished greatly. The betting sharps out there have now abandoned the three points and replaced it with one or one and a half, depending on the circumstances. Can the Rams keep the weekend’s trend going? Here’s hoping.
To The Game!
Rams/Bucs:
-Brady gets rid of the ball pretty much faster than anyone in the league and that’ll come in mighty handy today.
-For this reason I wonder if Gronk should be faded a bit, given the Rams pass rush and ankle injuries to Wirfs and Jensen. The last time they played Gronk had the most number of blocking assignments he’d have all year.
-It’s a wee sample but Akers has flashed in all three of the playoff games he’s played in, averaging 122 yards from scrimmage. It’ll certainly help that he has enough speed to get to the corner and can catch the ball in space.
-Tampa doesn’t really have much of a shutdown fella at the corner position so look for Kupp to bounce back from his 61 yard outing last week.
-As for the Rams, they’re fine at cb because Jalen but safety is an issue. How effectively will Brady exploit this remains to be seen.
-One is always wary of Stafford and there was a bit of snarky talk (guilty!) about “The Detroit” shining through here and there down the stretch but he did his part. He’s tossed 2 or more TD’s in 7 of his last 8 and had a 11.9 YPA last week. But…but…do you really trust him?
Make a comment or twelve.
Holy shit! You know how I can tell that the Rams have no fan base here? When the Dodgers or Lakers win a playoff game it’s the fucking 4th of July with the fireworks and the horns and people in the streets.
It’s absolute stone quiet out there. Not a whisper.
I’m stoked as fuck though. If we can get rid of Mersa and Q-Aaron in the same year? I’ll set off some fireworks my own damn self.
My house is full of rockets and amyl nitrates and krokodil
There were fireworks in the South Bay for the Niners
Hahahaha suck it, Al and Cris!
God, especially Crissy and his Brady lust.
Stafford >>>> Ryan
Thanks y’all for the Brady-hate vibes. MADE A DIFFERENCE!
I think it was too much, actually. It spilled over and affected the Rams, too.
OK. Third time this year. Last two ended well for us. We’ll see what happens this time.
NEW THREAD!
“War is hell. I’ve seen good sheep go down, ignominious. None of us will ever be the same, and I can’t imagine going back to my ewe, my pasture. But it has all been worth it. MRSA and Pirate Ship burn. BAAA-RADY IS VANQUISHED!!”

I am sure the LA Korean Business Association is happy there will be no riots due to a collapse.
“Riots? Over what?” – Los Angeles residents, 90% of whom are unaware there is a football team that plays in this city
