Because apparently I like being wrong/stupid, I have insisted for months on end thta the King’s Afrikan Water Pistols would run away and hide with the Prem this season.  Blink a few times, look up, and whaddya know?  Both City of Men AND Villa are within 4 points.

Last week’s home loss to Men Untied was especially damaging.  It just felt eerily foreboding (like…everything happening in the outside world).

Now, a trip to Leeds (10:00, USA) becomes must win, or else panic stations.  Worth a watch, surely.  One could simultaneously stream Trashbirds v. Toffees (Peacock), but that will realistically just be me.  And MAYBE Sharkbait?

12:30 isn’t spotlit (USA), which is well and good enough.  Chelski should put their boots through Rum Ham, but I’d note that Fronk’s crew have at least been friskier of late.

Naturally, other fixtures will happen, both today and tomorrow.  But that’s what caught my weary eye.  Enjoy!

I managed to lose, (i.e. I probably deleted them by accident) concert tickets I had so I spent the morning hassling credit card companies and trying to reach the venue, (which seems to have a phone, but no one who knows how to answer it), with the Arsenal game on in the background.

I missed every single goal.

Gonna buy and delete more concert tickerts every week from now until May.

In other news, got a call for two or three people walking in the ice in the Mon River, near the USS Requin, a decommissioned submarine next to the Carnegie Science Center. The sub offers tours of WWII/Korean War-era naval history.

I can’t underscore just how stupid of an idea this is. Two days ago, a car fell into the river, and one of the passengers drowned. Because hypothermia and drowning aren’t just enough, let’s potentially put others at risk trying to get us geniuses off the damn floating dihydrogen monoxide.

Dumbasses seem to have exited on their own accord; responders were waiting on shore to have discussion.

I’ve talked before about the Canadian basketball coach that turned a lousy program into a National Championship winner in 13 of 19 seasons at Carleton University in Canada.

He’s now the coach of the Pacific Tigers. The year before he was hired the team was 6-26. His rookie year they were 9-24. This year they are 15-8.

Two years ago their Points Against was 347th out of 362 teams. This year they are 49th. Get in on the ground floor folks.

Doing a wine and whisky bonspiel today at the curling club. $40/person gets lunch, dinner, 4 4-end games and 4 tastings. Although last time I went they just poured you as many drinks as you wanted.

Thanks! That greased fire-hydrant ripped us to pieces one afternoon in recent memory, playing for Wolves I think. He was a one-trick pony that day, but it was a hell of a trick. He kept taking off from a dead stop up the right wing, sprinting clear of whichever poor bastard was marking him, Aaron Cresswell I believe, and popping perfect crosses into the box. Two got nodded past a helpless Fabianski in quick succession and the match was over in the first half.
