A bit of a weird matchup to end the week but both teams are over .500 and that’s all I ask for these prime time tilts.
Fallout:
-Injuries to relevant players include both McCarthy and Tee Higgins getting concussed. (Tee will be back-McCarthy? Depends on how well Brosmer plays and apparently the coaching staff loves him) Mayfield and Kamara had to be replaced and the Pats lost three offensive lineman.
-It only took 17 tries but Shadeur was the first Browns QB to win his inaugural start. Does it even matter who the last one was? He’ll give it another go next week despite Gabriel being healthy.
-2nd Half Adjustment: The Lions, Cowboys and Chiefs made them. The Giants, Eagles and Colts did not.
-At 1,303 receiving yards and counting Jaxson Smith-Njigba is on a pace to break Megatron’s record.
-Looks like we’ll see Burrow on Thursday evening and so many folks are saying “Why bother?” but that fails to account for Flacco’s play dropping off quite a bit.
-The stats only go back to 1978 but Stafford has thrown 27 straight TD’s without an interception which is a record.
To The Game!
Los Panteros/Niners:
-Rico Dowdle was a sensation for a bit but he’s running hot and cold at the moment-in three of his last four games his rushing totals are 54, 53 and 45.
-At his current pace McCaffrey will break Faulk’s receiving record for running backs. (1,048)
-Carolina has a .500 record on the road and San Fran is .500 at home.
-Los Panteros haven’t had an overall winning record this late in the season since 2018.
-Bryce Young’s play has been up and down but since he entered the league in ’23 he has 10 game-winning frives, including 4 this season.
-Tet McMillan leads all rook wr’s with 54 grabs and 748 yards.
Do that thing you do.
